Jean-Paul Sartre wrote a book about being and nonbeing. I know what being is, but I've never figured out how one can unbe.

Try sitting down in a busy place, holding out your hand and asking passers by for some spare change.

Yeah. Have you never noticed the way that maybe 99% of people walk past beggars as if there's no-one there?

Wow. You guys are amazing.
I love this convo right now.
When I pass a beggar, I at least try to give a nod. Then feel terrible that my life is so damn comfortable.
Then there's the wonder whether or not the person really is homeless.
Then there's the nagging feeling I ought do more to help the homeless.
Then I remember all the Thanksgivings I wanted to help in the local soup kitchen and never did.
Then I remember that one day a year is not enough.
I don't know what to do.
What do *you* do?
all
(Oh and I keep having Warcraft dreams. None of 'em happy yet. I'm a hunter, and in one dream I was stuck in a spot in enemy woods and a member of an opposing faction, on a horse --- which means he's higher level than me-- was kinda circling like a vulture. I was truly frightened I was about to die. In the other, from this morning, I had logged on to the game and forgot to sign off. I came back and saw my wolf, my hunter's pet, had run away.)

Since this faction on a horse was on a higher level, and was circling like a vulture, does that mean the horse was flying, like Pegasus?

yes, but what if those flying pigs start to behave like the pidgeons on plazas and under the roofs of railway stations

The kind of magic that would enable pigs to fly would also dispose of any bodily wastes before they became noticeable.
