Hello. I am Grammar Man. This is my front page. In fact, this is my only page, but for all intents and purposes this is my front page. I exist in many forms here in h2g2, this is but one incarnation. A little while ago I decided to become a multi-contibutor to the guide, so that I could let my many alter-egos do and say as they wish without the fear of recrimination from those who know and love me. Some would say a multi-faceted jewel, others might say a strange combination of bad smells. I prefer to say complex, interesting and arresting... but that's just because I like words ending in "...ing" and "...ex". A prize goes to the person who can give me the three best words ending with "...ing" and "...ex", and reasons. ok?
So, let me tell you about this incarnation. I have grown increasingly intollerant of the misuse of the language we use, and especially bad grammar. There is no excuse for it - and things just read wrong when it exists. So, I will tell you when you go wrong... like an annoying, um, thing. I know this will bring a great deal of angry replies from those I pick on, but I don't mind, or even care. And I know you will all now analyse my words, to find errors and prove me wrong.. but again that's ok. I too can learn, so why can't you?
