Your 42ism - while Legal (watch out the Police are stamping down on this kind of blatant Sqrt abuse
) is not the most elegant solution - just thought I'd suggest an alternative (No offence meant or anything).....
U97644 = 9 - 7 + 64 - 4! = 42

I took ages to come up with that. I kept getting to 44 and 43 and 40 but couldn't get 42. And now I find there's more than one way of doing it!
