Around issue #10 of Essential Avengers and I need to know, does the Wasp actually do anything useful?? I thought Jubilee was bad but Wasp... Wasp's not gonna win any feminist awards. 
Strange opinions Stan Lee had in the 1960s... May be an ideas genius but his execution of characters... bleh.
Never thought anything could surpass Reed (Keith) Richards' "mere female" remark.

Wasp's there as a sidekick/girlfriend, to begin with anyway... she started off as Antman/Giant-Man/Yellowjacket's girlfriend and as a result didn't do a huge amount. But I seem to recall that by the mid-80s she had a stint as team leader. Apparently she has gone through more costume changes than any other superhero...
For a minute there I thought you were going to ask a question about Patrick Macnee and Diana Rig...
