He's a school invention. THis kid, Lawrence, had a copy of Macbeth that had had the word "Macbeth" changed to "Locotr". I'm not sure whether he added the pants, thong and bra to the characters on the front, but either way it cracked me up and had me laughing, giggling and sniggering for 25 minutes non-stop in an english lesson
Have updated the mosh pit page slightly.
My browser is being gay. All of a sudden it's only storing one page on the Back button instead of the six or so it normally does. Why?

I don't know! When I log on from the desktop machine in my office, that browser never remembers where I've been -- I believe it's either a security or a history setting, but I can't remember where to change it.
Often, when h2g2 is being really slow, I go up to the window and select the URL for my home page and go back there, then refresh it. This seems to go a LOT faster than hitting "my home".
What is your new email addy?
Da Omen
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 27, 2000
Hmmm, that's a good idea. IE gives you a box under the address bar with the last 20 addresses you've written in. I use that a lot, actually.
I don't have a new addy any more.

What? You're still on freeserve then?
Rent Baron Munchhausen.
Da Omen
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 27, 2000
S**t! Thanks for the reminder...I'd connected with Freeserve instead of our new ISP, LibertySurf, by mistake. We're surfing with the new ISP cos it's free off-peak . Emails are still being sent with Freeserve (well, mine are).
I need to get outside...it's 3.20pm and I'm -still- in the stuuf I wore to bed! *^_^*

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 27, 2000
LOL
Glad you've found an ISP where you can at least get SOME free time.
*imagines Mike falling straight out of bed and into chair in front of computer desk, his hair pointing in 50 directions*
I had a thought I wanted to communicate offline and I was too tired last night to remember to say it, so at least I know where to write it to, cos your dad wouldn't be interested to hear it.
Have a good outdoors.

Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 27, 2000
Imagine me waking up and walking across the landing to the computer without thinking about it.
Is that already happening? Oo-er!
Will have a great outdoors - Avatar has proposed an online WH40K campaign, so I'll be gathering up friends to see if they're capable of competing.
What is WH40K? Warhammer 40 000. Tabletop battles, y'see...

btw We're at #4 spot on Busiest Forums, under 'No Subject'. That's twice they've failed me...

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 27, 2000
*wonders how a battle can be both online and table-top*
Must be like online chess.
Da Omen
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 27, 2000
Well, the battles are fought on the table, and the results posted on Avatar's website. I've gathered together my opponents, we're going to pool our armies...all I need to do now is figure out the scenarios I've devised. This has the potential to be really fun.

*plaintively* Does the Baron figure in your weekend plans? We have over-hyped it cos you keep forgetting. It can't possibly live up to the expectations we've raised.
Nonetheless *becomes brisk* now that we've started we must finish.

Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 27, 2000
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. You go on about a film for a month or two...but it's too late to go back right now. For once, I'm not going to submit to my forgetfulness!
Yeah, the Baron features in this week's plans

You're still here!
Did you have a good day then?
Da Omen
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 27, 2000
Yeah, I'm here.
Today was ok, a very slow day. Spent three hours on the computer this morning, didn't get changed until 3.20pm (as I said), then I got a call from Ed Hunter which took out the rest of my day. Played Soldier Of Fortune (graphic shhot 'em up) and read plenty of Warhammer 40,000 stuff...I could really go on at length (indeed I have, in my latest guide entry).
The Matt came up (he should be changing his h2g2 name to Billig tomorrow) and we watched his Guns'n'Roses video. Actually, we fast-forwarded to the decent bits.
Rough plans have been drawn up for tomorrows warfare, I just need to figure who's battling who over what. I'm rather excited *^_^*

Got your email with dream & will reply later. V groggy just now, just going through motions of establishing stage presence at cafe, etc.

Just reminding people you're not dead yet, eh?
I have just re-registered with the Watership Down mailing list (having unsubscribed from Slayer things are v quiet).
BUT - old greviences will only be brought to the fore if they remember me and start on me. Their fault it all happened...

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 28, 2000
I'm a lot better than yesterday! My head was SO stopped up. Now I'm just full of antihistamines, groggy.
You're joining that list again. I think you must not be getting enough fights IRL and now you're going off looking for someone to challenge you!

Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 28, 2000
Good to hear it. All the get well wishes on the h2g2 mailing list have payed off
No fights for ages. There was the Gauntlet on friday, which I've mentioned in detail in one of agony aunt's threads. But that was just us kicking whoever walked in front of us (great fun).
We'll see if those bunny-hugging burks are still as dopey as they used to be
No honestly, they were being very dumb. If somebody posts something nasty and you want rid of it, do you reply to the message and leave the whole offending item attatched? Well, we had about four people do that. :-p

That's highly suspect activity, innit. And it REALLY shows up in digests, which is the only way I can handle stuff like the subbie mailing list.
Have you visited ripley? What do you think of the new skin?
Da Omen
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 28, 2000
I visted Ripley and -hated- the new skin. I can't beleive they're going to make it the default. Oh well, each to his own. Guess it's because I love the old way of things, y'know? I was very shocked when they intriduced the GMT things in forums.
For all the times I've been to Ripley, I haven't actually been in a forum yet *^_^*
I had actually unsubscribed from the subbie list cos the mail was getting too much.
I remember I switched my ACE mail to digest form, and now I'm getting bloody digests that I don't read into the wrong account, plus messages in standard mail form in my normal account!
Downloading an Iron Maiden song I haven't heard of before, It's called Justice Of The Pace, and I think it may be on the new album cos I honestly have never heard it before. So h2g2's going to be a bit slow for a few minutes (I notice we're both online at the same time again).
Key: Complain about this post
