Cruel and unusual exams
Hypatia Posted Jan 20, 2006
I personally think BrilliAnt should become part of the salonista lexicon. Especially since we have one.

Yay! All three of my modules for this semester are assessed by essays! No more exam traumas, and I get to write stuff properly!

Fantastic Ormy,
I always do notes on paper, can't stand writing on a computer too much, you can't do all the little doodles around the edges and the arrows.
Although if I was going to write anything more than 300 words I'd want a computer.

Good news, Ormy.
I absolutely can't imagine going back to university after all these years. I think it would cause an instant meltdown. I hope it never becomes necessary.

A little over three months after taking the exam that inspired this Journal Entry, I got the provisional result yesterday: 64.5% That cheered me up hugely, because it finally made me feel that I can really do this student stuff. A difficult subject, assessed in a manner that didn't suit me at all, and I still managed a highly respectable score (the pass mark is 40%). I'm hard at work on this semester's essays now and I will try not to get complacent, but I must say that result has done wonders for my mood and my confidence.
