Well wow. Look what happens when I don't look at my h2g2 account for a year and a half... it gets taken over. At least it's the good o' Beeb and not Yahuey, who are taking over everyone else.

So whats new in my life since last time I loked in here?

Well I quit my job for multitudinous reasons, foremost of which is that my former boss was a total plonker. Now I'm finally living a dream; I'm a freelance artist/illustrator. Now I'm actually getting paid for drawing and painting which is the best thing ever. I have a little shop in a local craft village (in Stockport). I'm not making a fortune but at least I'm happy. I'm getting some pretty good commissions too, of which more later.

Last November we adopted a stray Labrador/Collie puppy, who is now 7 months old and full of mischief. Look out for plenty of guide entries on doggy subjects as I'm getting really into the whole schmuck.

The otherkin stuff is really taking off, especially as we got a rather neat article in the Village Voice (a New York alternative paper) a few weeks ago.

I really do have to get back into this h2g2 thingummy. It's a great idea that I never took full advantage of. Watch out, the Obsessive Writer is a-coming!

Insanity

If someone is demonstrating the symptoms of a specific mental disorder, but they are not having any "social problems", are they or are they not insane? So much of the perception of sanity is dependent on social adjustment, so what of the person who is happy, holds down a job, has good relationships with other people, gets along with authority, pays taxes etc... Is it a mental disorder if their life is *not* in disorder?

Just a light thought to mull over with your cup of cocoa.
