Nothing wrong with a small glass or two! It's when you get one of those 'whole bottle' glasses that you have to worry about. smiley - bigeyessmiley - bubbly

I didn't see it on tv, but I do have the DVD. I haven't watched it yet, as I still have my memories of when I saw it on the stage, and I don't want to 'record over' them just yet. I saw some clips of it on the top 100 musicals yesterday, and I'm glad that I went to see the stage show first. It made it really magical! smiley - biggrin

You will have to have a Rocky party when you finally do watch it.

Send J on a sleepover and get your friends round for an 'at home' premiere of the DVD.

Full undress and make up required!

Aha, minds of a feather and all that. I've asked my other half if he'll have a party when he leaves to go round the world on a very small boat. My idea is that he'll play Rocky Horror/Barberella and a few other select films and project them onto the walls. I'll be dressed like this - http://www.electroephemera.com/cellwrap/images/barbarella1.jpg

Fantastic!!

I am sure you will be able to use your powers of persuasion to have the party smiley - devil

You should set up a vid camera in the corner of the room and record the whole evening - see what antics you all get up to when slightly smiley - drunk!!

How long is he going for? Not too long I hope.

But then I wouldn't go! I don't like being photographed or taped. Steals my soul, doncha know.

He's going on this - http://www.btchallenge.com/global/index.asp, so he'll be gone for ten months. The yachts are only at sea for around half that time, so it's possible that he can see friends, fly home, or whatever during that time, but it's a long time to be gone!

I was planning to just have fun for now, then wave goodbye as he left in October. But I'm not sure that's what I want anymore. You know what it's like, I try to keep my heart of stone and cold, calculating ways, but some blokes have ways of getting to us vunerable little flowers.

I'll have to have a chat with him to see what his 'expectations' are about 'us' while he's trying not to fall in.

Lordy, lordy, he must be very fit smiley - winkeye
I love canoeing but you wouldn't get me on a boat. I got sick on the cross channel ferry smiley - erm

It kinda creeps up on you doesn't it. I fell in love about a year ago, but he lived in chippenham and me in Edinburgh.

You don't miss what you don't have (been single for years and happy with it) But after he stayed with me for a couple of months, it hurt like hell when he left to go home again. (and me with a heart of stone usually smiley - winkeye) Decided to end it as it was easier to shut him out than to miss him. Tough one, especially if you aren't expecting it.

maybe you can get some exotic weekends abroad with him!

Whatever happens, send him off in style smiley - devil

Very fit? Hmm, not really. He hasn't done any sailing before, except the training sessions for this. Apparently most people have some sailing experience, and there's a huge waiting list for places. When I asked how he got selected with no experience, his answer was that they seemed more interested in finding people who could pay for it! It's a WHOLE lot of money to pay for the chance to get cold, wet, tired, risk being swept overboard!

I think you're right about it being easier to shut them out - it's one of the reasons that I've tried to avoid getting too attached to him, so that I can say goodbye and go and find the next one! Let's see if it works like that. And let's hope he doesn't dedide to lurk this bit. smiley - winkeye Although I have told him that I was staying detached deliberately because he was going away.
