But could you tell me how to take it up with one of the editors, as you suggest? They're obviously not bothering to read the thread, now that it's been cast back into the darkness, and I think I should at least have the right of reply. Especially in the extraordinary circumstances.
Thanks,
Grime

Hi Mina,
Hope y'r OK. I think you must be cos I seen ya buzzin around h2g2 solving problems here 'n there.
Which brings me to the point. How can I get back onto Grimethorpe2k1? I've asked the h2g2 team to transfer everything to my new identity here at 'Grime', but they've ignored me, probably because of my complaints etc. So now I'm in the ridiculous position of having a Pending edited article but not being able to delete the virtually identical unedited version. And I'm no longer, under this new identity, credited with my work.
I lost Grimethorpe2k1 because I changed the password and then promptly forgot it. 'Grime' is under the original password.
Is there someone I should e-mail? Or something?
Thanks Mina,
Grime

They won't move identities about, the easiest way is to click this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/DontPanic-Register#8, and follow the instructions. It's not too difficult, and it has all the links you need to get back into it there.
Don't delete the original entry, because that is all your own work, you have copyright on that and if you wanted, you could try to get it published elsewhere. And you can make changes (if you ever feel it needs updating) if you want to. You can't do that with the edited one.

Thanks Mina. Unfortunately I changed my User Identity as well, so I guess I'm stuck with it, having tried to hack my way in with every possibility I could think of. Regards, Grime.

Sorry, don't quite know what happened there, except I used the wrong identity (remember - I'm Gemini). Must be the effect of all those hacking attempts

Aha! good, cos I was a bit confused. Hurrah! for Geminis.
For log in name forgetting - email [email protected] with the U number, and they will deal with it.
On the other hand, just enjoy being a newbie again.
