I've been out there everyday shredding some branches and stuff, and yesterday I went and dug up some flowers that were left from the previous tenant, and I'm going to sow some seeds there today.
I went and stayed with another researcher at the weekend, we went and had a or too, and had a good gossip. That's about it really, I'm going out role playing tonight.
I hope your cold gets better soon.

Was it good, extra special etc? And have you recovered from it?
(Nosey, ain't I?)
But I really hope you had a good time.

I didn't go. My babysitter let me down.
But I didn't feel like going out anyway to be honest. I wanted to sit in and mope.

Grimethorpe2k1 Posted Sep 27, 2001
You should have a good time, girl! Not sit around an' mope. You seem such a nice person.
[I know, I've been there. Many times.]

I think it's a bit hormonal to be honest, and should clear off in a day or two. In the meantime it's getting late and I'm
Keep your chin up, take care, and I'll be back.

In your capacity of GURU could you tell me if there's any way I can appeal against a sub-editor's decision?
A few of us spent 50 postings getting it right, and apparently 2 scouts thought it was worth sending up the line. One of those in the discussion was a sub himself! (though not acting as one).
Then the sub said it wasn't good enough. And hasn't replied to my arguments. Can I appeal and/or ask the sub involved in the peer review to sub it? I'm d****d if I'm going to let all that (collective) work go to waste.
If you have time/want to, you can see the upshot at the end of the thread on Heidegger's Ultimate Question (on my Page).
Thanx,

Can you give me the link to the thread and to the entry and some more details? Is it something already picked from Peer review, or is it still in there? Sorry, I'm not very clear on what's up.
But don't worry, I'll help you get things sorted out.

I haven't learned properly about links. But the Entry is http://www.bbc.co.uk./h2g2/guide/A626212. And the exact title of the thread is A626212 Heidegger's Ultimate Question, on my Home Page.
The Entry has been through Peer Review, and worked on for two months by various researchers, including John-the-gardener(sub) and then sent up the line by a scout, just before the scout I was discussing it with in the original thread and in a further Heidegger thread (Can Heidegger's Question be Scary?) was going to do it - so two scouts thought it was OK. Then (as you can see on the thread) it was taken over and suddenly rejected by whoever was the sub.
Can I ask someone else to sub it? - this one accused me of writing an article that was an in-joke for philosophers (thus betraying a prejudice), when that was the last thing it was meant to be.
Thanx,
Grime

I've had a good look round, and I think I'm still a bit confused. When you say that you've got the wrong sub, do you mean the h2g2 Messages that posted to you in the thread? As they are not a sub, and I think what they have done is moved the thread out of peer review because they don't think that it's ready for subbing. Now, scouts have to recommend a certain number of entries a month, but it's still down to the in house team to agree that it's good enough to be passed to a sub once recommended.
You are going to need to follow the advice of h2g2 messages to get this to go through I think. As I know nothing about the subject, the entry has not given me any information that I can understand, which is probably what the editors are getting at. You've used words that I don't really know the meaning of. I know you wanted it basic and simple, but an entry telling someone to read books for info is not really the point of the Guide. At the end of it I felt no wiser.
I'm sorry that this is probably not the answer you wanted, and if you are still unhappy, then I suggest that you take it up with one of the editors.
Please let me know how it goes, and if there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
