h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello Scary Dave! I am humbly beseeching you to answer a few questions for me...First, what in zandrus ninth hell is a wap phone? I know, I know that I can look it up very easily. But I'm an american, and dammit, I want to take advantage of our reputation for laziness(hope you dont mind) Also, really, what is a plasma ball? Please tell me, you've piqued my curiousity already.

Greetings good citizen, may I begin by thanking you for being the first person to pay any attention to my existence in H2G2. May I continue this missive by stating that WAP stands fod "Wireless Application Protocol" and is a way of showing a king of condensed internet on mobile phones/PDAs etc (Personal Digital Assistants - Psions etc..) In reality it's little more use than teletext....(I'm assuming you have that in the states?) BUT H2G2 is accessible from a suitably kitted-out phone so I can write journal entries, read the guide etc.. from the comfort of a field in Hampshire....should I so wish!

As regards the second of your inquisitions, a Plasma Ball is one of those glass globes filled with rare gases inside that produce electric streamers that look like lightning when you put your hands on them.....they're just small Tesla coils really but I won't go into detail unless you'd like me to!

Well, thank you so much for your promptness...I have seen these plasma balls... now that you explain them...I really am not this mmm...uneducated. How would you go about making one? I would love to know. Yes we have wap phones, but it is just that i have never had the opportunity to use one, and see their inner workings, or even for that matter, outer workings...hahaha...
OK, how i stumbled across your page. I was looking at who's online at the moment. And you were on. You see, i know there are a great many researchers in the guide, but so many abandoned pages, so I try to patronize the active pages.
