Oh, OK. I haven't clicked on that BBC link yet, I thought the list was there.
I'm off to bed now, Rich.
It was great chatting again. Goodnight.

Evening. :-9
I've read the rules and stuff now, and I don't understand a word, so I'll not join your Fkk.

Ignore all that. That's all about the main season, which is much more complicated. I've got a quiet evening lined up at work, and I'm working on the page now. Read it when it's done, and if you don't understand it (it basically says 'Pick a name from a list') then I'll let you off

To start with: I have no idea how much one bids for a player.
I haven't a clue what's normal. I can't tell a captain form a batsman or whatever. I have no idea who belongs to which club, and which county...
See my problems?

That's because you're looking at the full season.
In this version, you don't have to bid for players. You don't have to know whether a player is a batsman or a bowler. You don't have to choose a captain. You don't have to know any of the rules, what bails are, or how to work out a batting average.
All you have to do is look at a list of names and pick out the one you like the most whenever I post a new one

Who knows, maybe I'll even learn a thing ot two. After all, I've meanwhile read various Absolutely Plumb articles (not just the new ones, as you know).

I'll never forget when I went to England for a two weeks holiday. We had to drive through Cheltenham on our way to somewhere near Cheltenham. There were construction works, and we were led some detour. For some reason, we always missed one vital signpost, so we went round and round and round, and each time we passed somewhere where there was a game of cricket being played. That was when we realised that we had again taken a wrong turn somewhere. In the end, we started betting whether we'd pass that cricket game again.
I think if we hadn't been on the road for a good 12 hours by then and just wanted to find our cottage, we might even have stopped and watched for a while.

It's very difficult not to stop when you pass a cricket match. There's something very joyously English about it.

I'm sure we'd have stopped any other day and time, but not after this long journey, and with three hungry and tired boys in the car.
I was amazed that they where all in white. I thought that to be incredibly silly for a sport like that. I bet none of them have to wash their sportswear themselves.

I've never managed to get out the grass stains of the boys' trousers by simply washing them, they required special treatment, so you have my admiration.
Key: Complain about this post
