Hopefully I have got this right...
go to www.abc.net.au/sydney/
select Listen Online, use windows media as the player option
the station is 702 abc radio and provides ball by ball coverage of all the test matches
You should get the radio, I hope, on your computer.

And Germany isn't even listed. Ho Hum
>>If you are not able to hear the stream, but you are not in one of these countries, it could be that your internet service provider considers has allocated your computer an identifier (called an IP address) which is from one of the countries above.<<
Makes me wonder which country my provider does pretend I'm in.

Surely the BBC provides full coverage...we have watched live on TV, and listened live on Radio, to Test Matches from overseas, especially Ashes series, for over 30 years, here in Oz!
The Ashes
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Nov 22, 2006
That's because the BBC broadcasts in OZ, too. The reason we can't listen to the live coverage on the BBC is the same reason we can't listen to it on ABC.

Very odd....as you may know I was born in England, and came here as a kid when parents migrated here. People around the world will never understand the extent of benefits and opportunities we have here, available to all, yet we are considered to be behind everyone else.
I am as proud of my English heritage, as much as I am am proud of my Australian Citizenship.
Sorry about that slight tirade, but this is an Ashes Series, and should be freely available in the UK, just as it is here! to the BBC
The Ashes
Steve51 Posted Nov 22, 2006
Oh, and the BBC is only available on Pay TV, it is not broadcast here normally on free to air TV
The Ashes
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Nov 22, 2006
It is available in the UK - but I'm not in the UK, that's the problem.

Steve51 Posted Nov 22, 2006
That explains it then..no wonder you can't get the cricket! Are you German, or an expat Pom, if you don't mind the question?

I recall from previous England winter tours that while I can quite easily listen to TMS when England are playing in England simply by streaming R4 long wave, it's not always possible when they're playing away. When the BBC first began webcasting their radio stations I remember listening to one or two days of an England winter tour before someone realised that they might not have the rights to webcast it (or perhaps they were sent a cease and desist order from somebody), and pulled the plug. Ever since then it's been a matter of suck it and see as to whether I'm going to get any winter cricket. Usually I don't

Not on World Service is it, Gosho?
I've just heard they've picked Giles. I heard the groan echoing from living rooms the country over. If him and Jones prove me wrong, I'll be delighted...

'Spinner Giles has been out of Test cricket for a year following hip surgery but his extra batting ability won him the final place in the side.'
So why the have we got six batsmen and a wicketkeeper, who incidentally got his place because of his batting skills? Are Australia dropping McGrath because he doesn't score many? For
s sake...
