Bob, from what I know PP has had a technical problem, nothing to do with the PR process as such?

Yes I know but It would happen if we did not have to change forums, and it is a scary and confuseing process for a new recercher. And I think the problem is still not sorted out.
I am not after a change just a re think, to get the flow gowing. The process needs a kick start to get it going again.

Wow! How on earth did you find this thread, Bob? (And thanks to Elentari for reminding me where it all started!) I'm quite pleased that you've chosen to ask me, though there are probably other, less opinionated people who might givbe you more of the answer you are looking for
I absolutely understand what you are saying about EGWW and reviewing in general. We tend to focus on getting more Entries written for PR when inn fact it is often the reviewing that lets us down, and reviewing is something I'm trying to tackle by getting people to sign up at A28763472. It is a problem; I would suggest that, in the short term, if you suspect someone getting disheartened in *any* of the Review Forums let one of us know - when I say 'one of us', I mean someone you know on h2g2 who is also an experienced writer and reviewer. You are absolutely correct to raise this - who knows how many potential 100 Entries badge holder have been put off by their initial experiences in EGWW?
As far as merging PR and EGWW goes, I think that is purely a decision for the Scouts. It was mooted when I was a Scout and I argued against it. The Scouts are responsible for Peer Review, for commenting, picking and clearing out the debris of abandoned and inappropriate Entries, and the extra workload would *at the time* have been too much for us to collectively take on. Time pressures stopped me from scouting in the spring, so I don't know what the current feeling would be now. I would be inclined to say that they should stay as separate forums until we see what impact the closure of the Update Forum has on PR, but I don't feel that is my decision to make.
Does this answer your questions?

I'm not a Scout, but I'd say keep them separate too. PR isn't designed for massive changes to entries, and that's what you sometimes get in EGWW - it's supposed to be a bit more welcoming, and constructive. I'm not sure I really explained what I meant there, but I hope you follow.

Question answered thanks, the process appears to be under review and this will in time lead to a better process whatever is decide. I have signed up at A28763472 Skankyrich and I hope that it will lead to a greater flow of entries.
As for EGWW it simply needs activity if it is to be effective. I shall watch this process with interest, and if there is anything I can do call me. And lil you deserve the compliment
