Oh no, none of that menial stuff for me. Most of the barracks had the 1930's vintage door-push plates and kick-stops and push-bars. All of high-end brass. That brown and green in hours, and always need volunteers to polish them.

She was in the uniform too, when I met her. A . She knows atleast as much as I do about ironing, polishing metal and boots ...

(Psssst, she never was much good at the uniform stuffs though. But don't tell her I said so )

I often wonder why boots get their own summer camp. Nobody does that for sneakers.

Boots are always so uptight, trying to stay shiney and stuff. Sneakers are pretty laid-back, and really don't need a break so often.

I wear the out of my sneakers.

I suppose that would make them very nearly silent, and hence the ability to 'sneak' around.

The fabric at the back of the heels wears away, and the leather over my big toes splits.
