If they ever sampled it. I think I was a 'Carnation' kid, and with my luck, probably straight from the tin.

Hello Nick,
Forgive the late reply, but we've only just seen your initial posting.
We have no wish to censor unnecessarily, and really don't like the suggestion that someone on here might 'disappear' as if part of some sinister dictatorship. So we'll deal with this on the site, rather than in email.
First of all, this idea that you have 'run a-foul of the powers that be' isn't quite true. Like everyone else on here, you receive an automated email when you break the House Rules and like everyone, if you do this repeatedly you may get a warning/be banned.
Secondly, and less dramatically, nothing strange happened to your postings. You received related emails for any postings that were removed. Decisions regarded postings are not made immediately. A referred posting might not be dealt with for several days - so anyone making provocative remarks at the weekend, for example, might find they are kept in the queue for a while. There's nothing strange about this, they're just posts that are pending.
We are really, *really* tired of this dispute: it stops, now. If you don't want your account to be at risk, then let the matter drop.
This applies to everyone across the site: if you can't get on with people then steer clear of them. There's nothing shady or sinister going on here - if you or the others involved in the dispute you refer to can't stick to this rule, then your accounts will be at risk.

Since this dispute has spilled over into my PS more than once, I am going to butt in and personally thank the editors for the preceeding post. It is indeed time for ~all~ parties concerned to step back and say enough. If you can't get along, then please ignore each other. If you can't get along for your own sakes, then please do so for your friends who find ourselves caught in the middle of it. I happen to like people on both sides of this dispute and find it all quite distressing.
I also sympathize with the editors. I have rules concerning content in my computer labs at the library. Some of those are federally mandated. It isn't my decision to enforce them. I have no choice. I must enforce the rules and they must apply equally to every single person who used the labs. I can't play favorites, no matter how much I like someone. To do so would compromise the integrity of the library and my administration of it. I am pretty much left to my own devices when it comes to running the library, but I have a board of trustees to whom I must answer, just as I'm sure the h2g2 editors have supervisors to whom they are answerable. So we need to let them do their jobs, recognizing that they didn't set the parameters.

Thank you, Eds, for indeed clarifying that any and all parties involved are subject to account risks. I am sure that your post has been noted in many corners of h2g2, without any need to also contact others with similar advice.
And thank you, Hyp, for the clear head and reminder that EVERYone is ultimately answerable to a higher authority.

Now Venus ... ... You must remember that your experiences can only have been with Engerlish cows. Several folks here will concur that Canuck commercial lactators are MUCH bigger, much more fearsome, have 19 horns, and are MEAN !!!

I never gave that angle much thought. Do you suppose they'd be less mean if it was a flock of sharing the pasture with them?

This exchange - about sheep - reminded me of a favorite quote of mine. So I put it in my tagline. Thanks guys.

Hey, you keep sending them over, so I just feel I have to give them a home. In the neighbor's gardens.

I'm not awfully fond of rams, though. I used to get butted by them when I tried to get through my neighbor's field so I could use his tennis court .
