A couple of trivial points now ...
I have indeed been watching the <./>Info</.> page and seeing what's going on in the worlds of friends. I never fully stepped away. Yeah, yeah, I know that makes me a lurker of the worst kind in some books. Tough. Even the 'best' of the volunteers of the site follow that list, else they'd not so easily drop in unannounced or uninvited into others one-to-one threads ... as I see plenty of times.
I am sorta back, but with a changed attitude. Being the social lad that I am, I have always felt an obligation to reply or comment to every new post or thread appearing in my PS. Obviously not everyone else does this, but I'm just an odd duck in a number of ways. Now, as or when I feel like replying or commenting will be the way. Not to be rude, but to simply feel less 'pressure'. Because as some folks know, my next number of months in the real world are going to keep me more than busy enough. Here and in a dozen other locations in this little place we call Canada.
And about the only other change that I can think of is my reticence to post to threads that seem to be populated by a small circle of folks. Simply put, it IS an open forum and my opinion is just as valid, whether they like me personally or not. There are thin grey lines between "keeping the peace" and feeling "muzzled". I ain't gonna care about those lines. If a few folks, and their indoctrinated or deluded friends, don't like my offerings, that is what moderation and TPTB are for. Let chips fall where they may.
So, with variations, we return you to your normal programming. But with a question: Did anyone recognize the comic duo that I referred to at the beginning of this 'journal'?

Good to see you back, I'm beginning to spent a lot les time around here myself, what with RL and other places that are a lot more fun, h2g2 ain't the place it used to be

Oh, I still see it as a very good place to be. Just not one to take to heart or any too seriously. As so many remind us from time to time, it IS just a web site. The friends are real, and those that are real can always be found in other ways. E-mail, snail mail, phone, what-ever. It'll never become the core and focus of my life as it is for some who have nothing else.

Just as a living example of a simnple comment or opinion, that then goes so awry ... F615?thread=5479221 ... I stepped in at post #18. In very short order, the thread left the subject, and became more concerned with interpretations of what I meant to say ...

I'm lurking in that thread just to see how people make fools of themselves

" Did anyone recognize the comic duo that I referred to at the beginning of this 'journal'?" [Rev Nick]
I am assuming that you are referring to this remark from your first post in this thread: "...that it's time to bid you, one and all ... That was, more or less, the sign-out theme of a fabulous Canuck duo of comedians."
I only ever came across *one* Canadian duo of comedians: Bob and Douh McKenzie, who starred in the film "The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew", 1983. In real life, they were Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis. By the way, whatever happened to Dave and Rick>

And has your hide become any thicker, based on the direct "what are you gonna do about it?" approach? Or the pointer to being an "ex-<./>ACE</.>?

Dig a bit further back in time, Paul ... WW2 and such ... "Wayne & Shuster" For a number of years, they had the theme of "be a booster, of Wayne & Shuster", and there were others. But when they ran a weekly show, their theme was a pre-official bilingual sign off ...
*trivia for a load of folks to research*
Side-note to Paul ... Call me at [email protected], and I might offer you some audio and video samples of their humour. Simple and fun stuff.

Hell, Paul, in the deck I arrived with, I think I'm that throw-away card that has the copyrights and stuff on it. Not so much as a sceptre or crown.
I know my lot in life, such as it is ...

IMDB.com lists a lot of shows that Dave Thomas has been associated with, but he's often invisible because he does the voices for animated shows.
Wayne and Shuster had a TV show from 1954 on, and did a lot of specials. In 1964, they co-hosted a special on comedians, which included Bob Hope. Dave Thomas has played Bob Hope, so maybe they knew each other?
I've seen Rick Moranis in 11 movies. I notice that in 2005, he released an album called "The Agoraphobic Cowboy." Sounda interesting .
Ta ta for now. I must be off for the Laramie whaling museum....

Paul, I think you still ought to drop a note to the e-mail. I have one of their radio broadcast CD's, and can send you snips and samples. Nothing complete, of course, as that would compromise copyright laws. But a few one-liners would give you a taste for their simple asnd clean humour.
And Reef, keep on poking with a blunt prod. are always recognised by their own words.

I may even do some sampling of that CD, and see if any suits your humour, Reef. The day is distracted with stuff that "the husband" (as some would term another half) must do.
Heaven help me if I or my wife are ever diminished to using the title of "the husband" or "the wife", ... on par with the broom, the toilet, the shovel ... Just tools and things that you use as needed.

Nice to have you back, Nick.
*waves to Reef* I'm not around here that much anymore, either. But I'm not ready to take off for good. I've met some great people here and have had a lot of fun, interesting conversations. I keep thinking I'll find the time to start writing again, but so far it hasn't happened.
