h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Purely as a useless bit of trivia, I used an on-line distance calculator ... to see how much travel distances we had covered in the various legs and hops. Not taking any day outings into account, we apparently flew and coach-rid across about 12,400 km (7,710 miles). That is far more than a round-trip from the most easterly city on this continent to the most westerly. NOW I am impressed !!!

Of course, this excluded trains, tubes, every stone-cut step devised in the entire UK, ... and some impressive hills.

And a final financial tally ... airfare, trains, cash (in all forms), boarding of our beloved furries, and local transportations ... About $6,600 Canadian, or currently 3,260 UK-pounds or 4,680 Euro.

Average that over a celebration of 20 years marriage, it's a small $330 / 161.50-quid / 234 Euro per year. Equal to perhaps 3 very delightful dinners out ... Amazingly inexpensive, wouldn't you say?

Oh no, Lady Venus, you will travel far less. You know that everything we Canucks have and do MUST be so much larger.

As to further points in Europe, we really do hope to see other ports of call one day ... Bits of Germany where my entire lineage seems to have emmigrated from, Pompeii just because it's fascinating, and of course a few common touristy spots. But until either a lottery gawd smiles on us, or retirement occurs, it's not very likely.

So, does'nt that mean i will travel more?
