Is it me, or...

Is this all getting reminiscent of another recent episode of h2g2 history?

But I missed the last bus for the day
I'm really, really pissed off about it. I want to punch something.

The Elusive Joe

I've discovered there's a biography of the poet Joseph Campbell. That'll help the guide entry I'm doing on him. The trouble is, all the information I can find is about the other JC, the mythologist from the states. One of the first pages that came up in a search (that dealt with the right person) was in fact my own unedited entry here!

Next Week

I'm heading out to the west of Ireland, to Westport in Co. Mayo. It's the first time I've went anywhere with a guide entry about it, so it's time to put the pedal to the floor and see what the Edited Guide has to offer!
I don't *quite* know what I'll do when I get there - I usually play these things by ear. The National Museum of country life is there, and I wouldn't mind seeing that. Supposedly it's very hands on. I'm hoping that doesn't mean getting up to the chin in manure though - I'm on holiday!
I've never been to Westport town itself before although I have been in the area. By all accounts it's a beautiful town. Should be worth a look anyway!

Going partially AWOL
Posted Jul 31, 2005
Well, for the upcoming period (not sure how long), I'm going to be a less common fixture on hootoo since I'm going to have slighlty erratic internet access.
Since I started into this place last year I've learned about predicting the weather with leeches, czech beer, and heard about the letter thorn more often than in the rest of my life put together. What'll I do with myself now?!
Hopefully by the time I return regularly I'll see a whole batch of new and interesting additions to the guide, and be raring to go with a whole sheaf of my own.
I'll be able to check email more often than hootoo in all likelihood, so if anyone wants to contact me during this little interregnum drop a line to kingbombah2 at yahoo dot co dot uk.
Oh, and I know it's fast becoming a cliche if people are leaving for any reason, but it has to be said - thanks for all the fish!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
