The blood is up in me now. The hackles are roused. The pike will be coming out of the thatch. There'll be whigs on the green.
I just heard a free-stater telling a group of American tourists that the beer is better in County Louth than in County Down. That is a lot of rubbish up with which I will not put.
I hereby challenge any Louth man, who wishes to defend this notion, to a twelve-round bare-knuckle bout on neutral ground - the boundary line in Carlingford Lough. Then we'll see if you really can walk on water.
[All of the above should be taken with a large dose of . I have been reading rather a lot of Myles na gCopaleen of late and I think the boundaries are blurring.]

Yesterday they had in the bar beer infused with black tea, bergamot oil, and a couple of mad other things I can't remember. I never tried it. I had something more...normal.

By the Horns Brewery is only about a mile or so from me, behind Wimbledon Dog track in Summerstown, That Tea beer is a bit of an acquired taste but not unpleasant.
I prefer my plain Indian / Sri Lankan in a mug with a splash of milk

Actually in my experience, beer tastes best in the south-west. But I don't know if that's actually anything to do with the beer, I think it might just be because the south-west tends to make me feel so chilled out and mellow when I'm there. Steak is seems tenderest there, too.
