I can see the funny side, just about. It would be even funnier if it was less expensive.
Enormous BOOM scares dog. Elderly, plodding, slow dog, who can't climb steps any more.
Said dog takes off like a rocket, tugging leash from my hand, in front of a car. I charge, and, well, shove/kick him out of the road...and the car runs over the binoculars I just bought. The ones I saved up for for nearly half a year for. 
Oh well. There'll be other binoculars, but the 
is a cantankerous, obstinate, lovable and irreplaceable wee bastard.
