It wasn't the worst page stretch I've seen (or that I've inadvertently created) but for me it didn't wrap until the dash near the end..




Speaking of Autumn, and the end of Summer... here's a poem. See if anyone can guess who wrote it. I'll give you a hint, it was translated from the German by Babelfish.



Owing to to the Summer

Oh summer, it was beautifully with you,
much Freud and fun owes I to you.
The long days, short nights,
as if the luck with you would spend.
Now you must gehn, who autumn he approaches,
the forest in multicolored colors radiate.
Then it becomes grey and wet and coldly,
the earth rests, as more waer it old.
But one tune me correctly gladly,
because you come back - anyway.

I just tried to find the original German text, but it's gone... forever... Apparently destroyed by a disk crash in 2004.

I know. I recogise it anywhere.

I did another search just now and apparently nighthoover now has a gambling problem.

Yeh... that was the disck crash I was thinking of; I have that link bookmarked in my 'outsanity' folder! I'd nearly forgotten about it though... a gambling problem? I've not googled nighthoover for ages... excellent... even more time wasting oppertunities recalled

I think I definitely did jump the gun a bit when I declared Autumn. That was an insanely warm and sunny day for the end of September.

So I took a nice long lunch and went down to sit by the river and mellow out. Lovely. When you do that, though, it's incredibly hard to frogmarch your ass back to work.

I keep taking every oppertunity with this loverly warm sun I can; useually this entails popping onto the balcony, and having a cigarette, whilst sitting in the sun some rain here.... earlier... but the suns out again now, so off soon, for a walk by the river
