I'm popping by as one of the assistant community editors or <./>aces</.> here. We greet newbies such as yourself and help you get settled. Take your time reviewing Feisor's list of Hints and Links at A719840, as well as examining the various features in the process. One of the many many things you'll find are the assortment of <./>smileys</.>. But you'll also find our newspaper <./>thepost</.>, <./>MiscChat</.>, etc.
Of course further investigation will reveal items such as the Researchers' 
Map(at A5076614). But also the different Regional Researchers' Groups(at A660313)and among other things, the Personal Space Workshop(at A1123354).
