Yo! I haven't seen you around in a long time. Hope you're doing well.

I loved the meanie doo doo head comment when someone called me that, so I stuck it on my name. It comes from a cat/dog thread. Over a long period of time, the dogs have been fighting the cats. It's mostly died down now but the battles forged some friendships that have crossed enemy lines. In one thread, Saturn Girl, who is a cat, was lamenting that Red Dog hated her because she was a cat. He was away and we were consoling her by saying things like "he probably hates you least of all cats", etc. (All of this is tongue-in-cheek, of course - we're all friends). Then Red Dog came back and gave her a hug. I immediately jumped on him and said that it was against the rules - hugging cats was only allowed when attempting to capture them, etc. and if he was really hugging her, he would face excanination. That went on for a while and Saturn Girl then said that we were meanie doo doo heads for putting Red Dog between a rock and a hard place. I loved the name and added it to mine.

Here's the thread:

start reading at post 2445 - it's not long and it's pretty funny.

hahaha! The good book of dogma and the sacred lease of lassie! smiley - rofl Man where do you come up with this stuff!?! I now remember what I've been missing. I haven't been around much lately cause this was my first year of college and I was simply too busy to do a whole lot of anything else. I'm going to make it a point this year to have more time to get on here and be more efficent.

What new and interesting things have been going on around here?

Where do I come up with that stuff? Well, it usually just starts out with a small idea. Then I blow it way out of proportion. smiley - biggrin In this case, it was the idea of Red Dog breaking some Doggie Code of Conduct. Then I had to think of some punishment, and up popped the idea of excanination. That led to thinking about things in religious terms which led to the rest of the puns. One thing leads to another. Normally, there's several of us pushing the envelope and there is a real synergy of ideas, but in this case I was flying solo (and having a ball).

As for what's new, etc., I haven't been getting around too much myself. I'm mostly tied up with one particular adventure that has been going on for months. Me and a few others have been working behind the scenes of that adventure and have a few things planned. We each have several h2g2 personna that we are running - i.e. we have created accounts for some bad guys who the other people in the adventure will eventually fight and who will eventually die in some creative way. There is a battle looming and if you were interested, there is a part you could play. It won't be a very serious battle - it will be more a keystone kops, slapstick, played-for-laughs kind of battle. If you are interested, I can give you a quick brief.

I meant to comment on that fantastic nickname addition when I first saw it, but I forgot. smiley - ok quite amusing!

I still remember the origin of the "A Very Nice Danger" bit, and that was pretty great as well. smiley - biggrin

Hey ya Sea! Wassssuppp?

I think I even have a link to the origins of Danger on my U page.

Sure I'd be interested in doing a little Keystone Cops type thing. Give me the run down.

Okay, first I'll need to brief you on the story so far...

*takes deep breath*

A group of people from Lil's Atelier went off to return their annual christmas tree (a goo spruce) to the woods. This, of course, led to adventure and through various circumstances, we ended up in a future version of h2g2. This future version was one we had discovered a few years ago in another adventure that had petered out when some of the players left h2g2. Anyway, it was too good a concept to leave alone and so we ended up there again. Now, this particular future of h2g2 isn't the one we ourselves are headed for, since there are a couple of differences - most notably that GL and Affy still have their evil parts incorporated within themselves, rather than as separate entities. Since we know that in our own universe GL and Affy separated themselves from their evil parts, we know that this particular future isn't ours. Nevertheless, it's a fun place to play in.

In this future, there was some sort of disasterous introduction of a new skin called 'orchid'. The details aren't clear, but we do know several things: there are real orchids that tend to attach themselves to people, enabling some weak sort of telepathy between them. And, the evil parts of Affy and GL (i.e. the Krylma Leader and Big Bad Werewolf) are in control of their bodies and have built a big mining operation.

Now, the group of Salonistas (i.e. us guys from Lil's salon), came through a portal which has since disappeared, so we have no way back. Furthermore, we are plagued by orchids and can't risk bringing any of those back to our current time. So, we are on a quest to first get rid of the orchids, then to find a way back.

Before we actually traversed the portal, we had a battle with Gobolds. In the process, we saved a Gobold that had been taken from another tribe and was being kept as a slave. His name is Gord and he is still with us. After we had made it to the future, we were attacked by another band of Gobolds - actually the remnants of the same band, but alot older. Gord captured one of them, Ivana, a female, and they eventually fell for each other and Ivana changed sides and is now helping us.

Ivana has told us that the only place to get rid of the orchids is at the Temple of the Guide. And the only way for us to get to the temple from where we were was to go through some long-unused tunnels in the CLI/STUMPED mine. So, we headed for the mine complex. Once we got there, we gained entrance through the abandoned Atelier, which is on the second floor of CLI. We discovered that the bots that usually attend us at the Atelier were still there, but slightly derranged. Matina is the normal maidbot, who cooks for us and brings us drinks and stuff, but her mind is slightly warped now. Chloe is another cleaning bot but doesn't seem quite so derranged.

In the Atelier, we discovered that there was actually a bot resistance in operation. It seems to be headed by Chesworth, who was the head security bot at CLI. She's been helping us. We know that we need to get to the mine tunnels and it appears that the way there is through Admin. Level 2. The Salonistas are currently on a side trip to the Aroma Cafe, where the cleaning bot there has also gone wacko and the IIEM (Infinite Improbability Expresso Machine) has also gotten a bit senile and has been spraying our orders all over the room instead of in cups. We're currently battling that cleaning bot and having a grand food fight in the process.

Now, opposed to the salonistas are the guys running the mine. They are all named after chocolate somehow (i.e. Butch Cadbury and the Semisweet Kid, Lindt Eastwood, Choc Holliday, Toby Larone, etc.). They are the Keystone Kops guys and work in different departments. We are planning to have them all on Admin. Level 2 in time for the arrival of the Salonistas there, after which there will be a big battle and most of the Choco-warriors will probabaly die. Should be great fun.

Anyway, one of the choco-guys is a cook name Russ Stover and the excuse for getting him to Admin Level 2 was that he was going to complain to purchasing over a mix-up. This is where you come in. You can be the choco-guy who works in purchasing. You'll need to create a new account with a chocolate/cowboy name. Some ideas: Chip Chocolate, Black "Magic" Bart, Rocky Road, or, a chocolate/indian name: Little Round Tree. I'll give you some links to the current choco-warrior pages (two guys are run by me, two by Red Dog, one by Lil and one by d'Elephant). Once you have created the account, go and post on the 'Admin level' thread - just make up something about arriving for for work and, um, I don't know - checking your inbox. Soon Russ will show up and give you a piece of his mind.

Okay, now for the threads.

First, this is the page for the mines complex: A2301076
The threads that you will be concerned with are all hanging off of this entry.
This is the thread where the action is currently taking place (i.e. the food fight and bot battle): F1742198?thread=438593&post=5557434#p5557434
This is the Admin. Level thread that you will enter:
F1742198?thread=385723
This is the thread where Russ is coming from:

Ok, I think I got it, come in throught the admin level and then just kinda hang around till this dude comes to return stuff.

One question. Are we still in human/alienwhatever form or are we like a piece of chocolate?

We're still in human form. The chocolate connection become clear later. If you have fun with the choco warrior, I'm sure we can find a way to get you involved later.

Once you are in the Admin. Level, Russ will show up and start giving you a piece of his mind. So there will be some action before the big battle. Also, a bunch of other Choco-guys will be showing up before too long too.

BTW, feel free to ad-lib. The description of the Admin levels is very sketchy, so you can invent any details that you want, for comedic effect, of course. For instance, the purchasing department could be a huge palatial office with every bell and whistle you can think of, or it could be in a small closet in the back corner. Whatever you think would be funiest. Have fun. smiley - winkeye

I'm currently on holiday for this week and next week. I intend to check in on Sundays and Wednesday, though (it's Wednesday now). I've never had problems creating new accounts - the confirmation email is sent immediately. Can't imagine what is going wrong for you, but I hope it works out soon. Once you do establish your guy in purchasing, the cook won't show up until a Wednesday or a Sunday smiley - winkeye

Don't worry too much, though - the action has slowed down a bit while a few people are on holiday.
