That's okay, GL. I didn't get back on until about a year and 3 months ago. Good to have you back!

Oh, Irv, did you see my post in the Atelier? I found my first ever post, which was in the Aroma Cafe - I gave a link there.

Affy had found h2g2 and I had followed him here somehow (the details are a bit fuzzy after 8 years). You were away for the Christmas holidays, and we, um, kinda took advantage in the Cafe.

I just read it. But since your arrival seems to have kicked Lil's into overdrive, I'll answer here first, then finish the backlog at the Salon. Yes, I seem to have horribly neglected the Cafe at various times. Including now, especially since I can't get into my old account, and therefore can't make changes to the Cafe main page. So that you know, however, the IIEM has been moved into the Salon, since that seems to be where is most needed. Also, there's a CLI/Cafe/Salon story unfolding starting here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/F26140?thread=4509620&skip=620&show=20 with post 632. The Cleaning Bot is on the rampage again. I know as well as anyone that lots of roleplaying is the primary cause of the HooToo time-suck, which in turn causes major extended absences from the site. So if you don't want to dive right into that, I can understand. Hope all is well!

The intervening Christmases have all been great. I got divorced 2 years ago, but am still good friends with my ex-wife, so all is good there. My 15 year old daughter lives with me, which is great. Other than that, life is much the same as before. Oh, except that my Mom has Alzheimer's. She's not too bad yet, but it is slowly progressing. smiley - sadface

Thanks for the link Irv. I'll check it out. smiley - biggrin

Sorry to hear about the divorce, GL, and the alzheimers. Both are tough situations, but it seems you are doing well in the midst of it! smiley - smiley

That is sad news about your mom. It is a difficult thing to watch. We're here if you need to talk.

Sorry for not replying sooner - I forgot to check my conversations; I was just refreshing windows I had open.

Thanks for the kind messages. The divorce is something I'm quite happy about. It's much better now - not that it was terrible before, it was good before, but I like it this way better. I much prefer my ex-wife as a good friend over my ex-wife as a wife. smiley - biggrin

The alzheimer's is pretty sad. Fortunately, Mom is still happy and cheerful and seems to accept what is happening to her with grace. It annoys her, but she doesn't dwell on it. It's hardest on Dad, who now has to do all of the cooking, cleaning, driving and everything else. My sister lives just around the corner from them and she is a tremendous help, and Dad often drops in on her when she is working from home - gives him a bit of a break. I'm so lucky to have her, and I'm so glad that Dad is so good about the whole thing too. I only wish I lived closer so that I could do more for them (I live 2.5 hours away).
