Websailor Posted Jul 21, 2008
Greg Norman and Chris Evert were married in the Bahamas in June. The gossip gets to me even if the sport doesn't
The Forth Bridge? Oh, don't I know that feeling. Been weeding out the Bindweed this morning - nice flowers, shame about the rest of it
We eat in the evening if the boss is bowling, or I am up to something, especially if it is hot weather.
look at the time. Gotta

Dear SD
What a lovely posting. I so enjoyed reading about your day.
I had not realised that Chris Evert had been married to John Lloyd,
It does make one feel old. but I actually do not have a mirror in the house so I never see myself! It is easy to delude oneself that one is young although quite incapacitated but it dies it does not worry me.
Actually living in this marvellous flat with the Channel in view from both my study and where I sleep and the kitchen, I really never have to do or think of anything else, except except enjoy these wondrous surroundings. !!
thank you for making my day!!

Hello both!!
Why didn't /I/get married in the Bahamas? There's one very good reason. Isn't it nice to be able to say one doesn't regret or envy! Is there a Smiley? I need one at this point!
Also, it's presumptuous to say you're lucky, but I'm glad you have those lovely views. It must make a big difference to your mental outlook, as well as your visual one.
We had a rapid and sudden change of plan yesterday. I find, with age, that I don't Do Change readily. and it takes a while to resettle the mind. (Mind?) We'd arranged to go to the Shed tomorrow, and had eaten most of the food in the house, so as not to have too much to carry with us; my daughter then emailed to say that she, her Master and son will come today to help in the garden. When my brain cooled (not to say congealed) it dawned on me that not only would it be churlish to say 'No, you can't', but that we'd have to go shopping, clean the house, make up beds, as 'their' bedding has gone to the Shed in advance of their proposed visit next month. This is why we're going this week. THAT house needs cleaning too. Well, you know me by now. So laid back as to be horizontal. Then I looked in the bath. Then I looked at the kitchen floor. Get the picture? Must and do more jobs.
'Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Digitoutandweedit.
But it will be lovely to see them, and we shall be enormously grateful.

LadyDig I don't believe a word of it. I bet the house is fine.We all do it when there are visitors coming. PHM, my Master always asks if the Queen Mum is coming
Have I missed something? The Shed?

Christiane,
I absorb all sorts of rubbish in my brain, like that bit about them marrying, which is why I can't remember things that matter, according to 'him who shall be obeyed'

Have I missed something? The Shed?
..is a chalet on a 'holiday park' where we hide from the world.
Yep, the house will probably Do, but, being a Lady, I feel I'm meant for higher things, and I HATE dusters. I'm very lucky, as Himself, the archmesser, willingly gets his hands dirty when visitors pend. 'And so he should' I hear you cry.

Have a marvellous day though.
It is marvellous that they want to come and see you en famille..

Hello, Also!
They've gone, and they were wonderful! They cleared the jungle, so that even a Lady could walk through it. It would have taken us a month, and they did it in a morning, bless 'em. I feel as if we may go to the Shed without the usual feelings of guilt!
'Twas sad to see them go, though.
Till Monday week, then.

Christiane,
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Do take it easy. Is it hot and humid there or do the sea breezes blow it away?
Take care, I will ring you in a couple of days, in the hope you will be feeling better.

Hello, both! Back, after a week of extraordinary weather. The downside was excavating down to the carpet, so that the forthcoming visitors will not be in danger of cholera, typhus or whatever.
How are you, now, Also? I was so sorry to hear that you were 'offit'. Have you the test results yet? I do so hope things improve rapidly.
Webbie, how are you? and how are the beasties? Is Nigel OK? how are Badge and Reynard? It seems ages since I was communing, but it's only about ten days! Days are much shorter than they used to be, so this doesn't actually make a lot of sense.
There are no Smileys for the rubbish I tend to write, so you must make do with my deathless prose. Glad ter see y'all.
Dig.

Websailor Posted Aug 5, 2008
Hello LadyDig,
Your carpet sounds er.... how can I put this? Full of life I hope you had a nice time in spite of silly weather.
I am fine. I have had my eye clinic appointment cancelled for the fourth time!!! I hope from that I can assume it is nothing too serious Nigel has one or two health problems which makes using the computer a bit of a problem, but I am sure he will overcome, as he does most things.
We are certain now that we have a badger cub, by size and antics, smaller and less confident that the adults, and able to run faster The two fox cubs are regularly to be heard squabbling, and all four are seen most nights in and out of the garden. The nights have been murky and visibility has been dreadful so often I can only see shadows and movement just enough to identify them.
Oh, and the slugs are thriving since you didn't ask . Wretched things are everywhere and I live in dread of encountering one with my Size 9s!! Well 8s actually. Landing flat on my face among them simply does not appeal
I am sure some hours get taken off us as we get older, the days go so quickly and I can't get as much done as I used to, even a few years ago!
I hope you have settled back in to your abode and the weeds haven't grown too much in your absence. It rained heavily today so I have been spared mowing the lawn for a while!

Coffee grounds, holly leaves and thistles. The object being to puncture them so they deflate. And they loooaathe coffee.
If you had a goat, I'd trail over to your patch with the excellent thistles which have appeared in our absence. These are not the unslug onres, rather the succulent, milk-producing ones my Guinea adored. No? Sigh.
I hope your eyes are sorted ere long. It sounds like my teth. Every appointment I've made over the past two years has been altered. A different vet every time.
Loneliness!
Websailor Posted Aug 5, 2008
I think we would do better with a vet frankly, they are better trained
Thanks for slug tips. Will try the coffee one.
PHM has just made me a I had better go drink it or I will be in the dog house.
Back later.

I actually called myself also Ran because that is exactly what I am.
It used to bother me but now I really do not care. I get there in the end - like the tortoise. !!

seraphicDigitalis Posted Aug 6, 2008
Helo, Webbir. Vets? Well it takes longer. They have more than one species to cope with! Ours used to say he'd never seen a goat till he met me! So we learned together. I shouldn't want to be a doctor, these days at least. Like teachers, they have to spend too long watching their backs instead of getting on with curing people. And why can't they say 'You're too fat. Lose weight!!' I had to take the battle into the enemy camp before the consultant admitted that it was 'one' of my problems. So I shifted 15kg. And a good thing too.
There. What shall I rant about next? Glad your feller has his priorities right. Mine knows where his bread's buttered, too.
Luv 'n' stuff. Dig
