We're getting snow now. It's melting as it hits the ground, but it still counts.

Got any fun weather on your part of Northern Caulifourneeah?

Just occasional hail--you know the stuff, so tiny that it's almost embarrassing to call it hailsmiley - winkeye? According to weather.com, we may get snow on Wimpy, but the ground will probably be so wet it won't sticksmiley - sadface We did just start getting December weather this past Poets, though--it had been clear for over a week, which just ain't natchral!

I've been told that folks coming over the hill from Klamath had 3 inches of snow to drive through!

I heard that there's a chance that we might be going to Point Arena for ministry purposes... Of course, I don't know how good a chance, nor whether it's "we" or just Tom, much less when. The only certain thing is the "Point Arena" partsmiley - laugh

Of course, now you'll probably tell me the scale on Googlemaps was wrong, and Point Arena's nowhere near Ukiahsmiley - tongueout (Though that'd be something not-baby-related to blame on you-know-whosmiley - winkeye)

Well, we have to drive around this big mountain to get there, so it's not quite as close as it looks on a map, but unless we have some previous commitment, we're in. A road trip to Point Arena, yay! It's a lovely area.

smiley - cool

I'll have to get some actual details tomorrowsmiley - ok

Even if the Point Arena trip turns out to be just Tom, we're planning on heading down to Sacto when school's out--both of Tom's sisters live there (each a half sister, so I guess he just has onesmiley - silly) and we do have someone to show off, after allsmiley - winkeye I'm sure we could get a side-trip in, especially since Tom's not wanting to have a trip with the same stops as the showing-Faith-off tour, which started in Sacto (which is where we lived then), came to Crescent City, went up to Salem (getting over 299 just before it was closed due to firessmiley - yikes),a swing over to Prineville, OR, and back home.

Not 299, 199--though I don't doubt there were fires there, too...

Anyway, as I mentioned in the Blame thread, we're heading south and inland in less than 2 weeks. We have an appointment in Redding on the evening of the 19th, late enough that we've already reserved a room (Expedia had the room for 20% less than calling the front desk would've gotten us--I know,'cause I calledsmiley - bigeyes) The next day, Thing, we'll take our time pootling around and get to Sacto in the evening. We're staying with friends Thing and Poets nights, and then things are up in the air. The original plan was that we'd stay with one of Tom's sisters Doobry and Dontbry nights, and come back Sodit--Tom's sister wants us to go to her church on Dontbry. But she doesn't have room for the 4 of us(nothing like making plans before learning little details...) Tom just emailed our friends to see if we can stay Doobry, too, and we'd leave Dontbry afternoon. By "just emailed" I mean just over an hour ago, so I certainly don't expect an answer yetsmiley - laugh We're considering staying at the cheap motel again Dontbry night--I suggested taking the laptop and going through Expedia again if we agree with the latest reviews I've readsmiley - whistle We won't be making any daytrips to anywhere while we're in Sacto, but maybe we could arrange something for when we head back home? When I know for sure when that will be, of course.

Just out of curiosity, how come I haven't seen you in the Atelier for awhile?

I should blame 2legs for the last 3 weeks, but I'm too tired, which is probably 2legs's fault. I'll have to blame him later.

Right now my car is on the fritz and needs to go to the car doctor. Its almost constant misfiring suggests new spark plugs and wires are needed. My last road trip was rather expensive because two repairs were needed (the fan motor burned out and about 1 week later, a radiator hose blew). At my car's advanced age, the rest of the hoses also need replacing, as they have become brittle. $$$$$

Once all this is done, I'll be mobile again, and can probably meet you somewhere by the time you are at this latitude.

I just can't keep up with the conversations in the Atelier; there are far too many posts for me to read. I do manage to keep up with the American politics back room chat thread.

Fair enough, for both the missing 3 weeks, the up-in-the-air-ness of transportation, and the absence from the salon.

smiley - ermThat's 3 things, so "both" doesn't work... Well, we know who to blamesmiley - laugh

Yes, for that we must blame ...

The Spanish Inquisition. That and other Monty Python skits are 2legs's fault.

Rich from smiley - thepost wants to do the Getting Organized A29507240 write-up as a serial, so I thought I'd throw in a cliff-hanger. smiley - laugh

Fall has definitely arrived to Mendo, despite last weekend's absurdly high temperatures. We've got cooler days and chilly nights. I'm really looking forward to some rain. How's your little corner of Jefferson State?
