The question is, which is better, this "a whole new cat", or my family's version, "a whole new hat"?

'Setting a duck on S'

I shall explain, in our flat there is currently a rubber duck (the squeaky yellow kind that you put in your bath) and i have been pestering S with it for days, i put it on his head, make it move around the room when he is looking away, or out of the room.

I keep joking that he has Anatidaephobia (the fear that somehow, somewhere a duck is watching you) but he reckons I'm being silly.

I once owned a duck, a little white porcelain one that I got out of a Christmas smiley - cracker. I was very fond of himsmiley - hug. My Exsmiley - witch took a disliking to the little chap and I would often come home to find him missingsmiley - yikes.
She was very cruel to him, I would often get ransom notes for his release, to give you a few examples, she once cooked a piesmiley - porkpie, I remember that look on her facesmiley - evilgrin when I cut into it to find my poor duck theresmiley - sadface, I would be offered drinkssmiley - stiffdrink, a very kind gesturesmiley - smooch you would think but deep inside one of the ice cubes, yes you got it, was my little duck. I once came home to find him hanging from the bathroom light pull cordsmiley - erm.
If there’s is something to be learnt from this story , it is, if you are fortunate enough to find a little porcelain duck in a Christmas smiley - cracker, then cherish himsmiley - hug, did I have fun, yes when I knew that he was safesmiley - ok.

I like our giant rubber duck (named Jamima) who stays very firmly on my brother's cupboard after a terrifying personal history

She went to Uni with my brother, before being duck-napped, she travelled round 12 colleges, before visiting Edinburgh, the Shetlands, the Isle of Man, France and Ireland before a ransom could be paid...very scary for a poor duck

To say “I LOVE you” smiley - blush, you should learn to say it everyday.

As somewhere it goes something like, It's a new dawn, It's a new day and the fun bit is that it makes you bothsmiley - hug feel goodsmiley - biggrin

The experiences of your brother's giant rubber duck remind me of the time Mr Nerd and I helped to show a garden gnome some thrilling adventures. We like to think he very much enjoyed his brewery tour.

Today I learned that one of our clients has a system with different requirements than we thought. smiley - rofl You wouldn't know it from reading the spec either. File this one under "It always pays to ask."

Did I have fun? Yes. I am inches away from being able to build an integration engine. Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha

I learned today that there is, in fact, a carpet under the big pile of, er, stuff in my bedroom. Wasn't really fun, but I'm a single day's work from finally properly moving into the room I've been living in since December...

My bf and I just learned that Kinder Surprise is forbidden in the USA and that you have to pay up to 300 Dollars if you smuggle them in. This is because children are not supposed to understand the difference between chocolate and plastic toys if they are sold together.

Yes, we had fun.

I learnt todaysmiley - eureka how to install my new Kodak hero7.1, navigate my way aroundsmiley - somersault Norton’s 360 v6 and how to keep my calmsmiley - steam as I had to speak to some one in Indiasmiley - silly because I could not load my credit vouchersmiley - 2cents into my dongle so allowing me to get on with the above.

“ oh very good, we know there’s a problem and where working on it”smiley - grr Why they could not have just said that on their website in the first place, is beyond mesmiley - facepalm and saved me endless hours in trying to do it.

Did I have fun, NOsmiley - sadface

Some of the chocolate sold here tastes a bit like plastic. It is a manufactured substance produced by squeezing all the cocoa butter out and replacing it with hydrogenated vegetable oil (aka Crisco, Fluffo, etc.)

Today I learned that there probably isn't any amount of petting that is too much for Footloose, a handsome and good-natured black and white polydactyl smiley - cat. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/22241379

I also learned that it takes a lot longer to wash a car if you haven't done it in a long time.

Did I have fun? Yes

Been on tinternet and was directed from the Microsoft site to Kodak, went to download the new drivers only to be told that my operating process is too old.

WHY DON’T THEY TELL YOU THAT ON THE ******* BOX.

Am I having fun? NOsmiley - grr

On Sunday I found out that while one can see an annular eclipse quite well through welder's filters, photographing it is still problematic. I have yet to sort through all the photos to see if any are usable. Still it was a wonderful experience

Yesterday I found out that washing the front room's window and screens makes the window look so good that the curtain now looks shabby. Well, it looked rather shabby before but now it is beyond the pale.

Sounds great!

Let's see did I learn anything today? Oh yeah. Something I learned a long time ago, but it is still true: It feels really good to strike something from the To-Do list.

Did I have fun?

Well, sort of. Time to go home anyway, and have a different sort of learning experience and other kind of fun.

I learned that the short-term online job that I stress out about yearly, which had software that only worked with IE (boo, hiss) now *doesn't* work with IE (at least my version?) but *does* work with Firefox finally.

Did I have fun? Only if you consider waiting and waiting for training modules to open before trying something you're sure won't work, and that ends up working, is funsmiley - tongueout

Its not a children problem kinder eggs - the US has a complete blanket ban on items inside food - for example you couldn't be served christmas cake with a silver coin inside at a restaurant if following the law very seriously

I did not have fun the last week...i have learnt that my exams are not going well smiley - wah

That when things are good, be happy.

When things are tough and not going quite right, be happy.

For you only live the moment once, so it’s best making it a happy once
