Too bad no one told my father-in-law that. For our wedding, he bought quite a quantity that he was told was good. Because it had a French name. It had to be atleast a 7 or 8 !!! Like drinking sugared grape-juice. And all the toasts were done with it.

I guess just another trial of marrying, eh? smiley - laugh

Something must have gone right, ... we celebrate our 18th in September. And by a weird confluence of circumstances, on the same date, my girl celebrates her 2nd. smiley - smiley

And on the idea of re-using calendrical dates ...

April 2nd, '81, I married my first wife. During the reception, my new mother-in-law threw a tantrum, because no one acknowledged it was also her 25th anniversary. Well, she was such a b*tch, she had driven her hubby away more than a decade earlier. She is now long-time 'interred', having met her maker. And that first wife is on her 3rd marriage.

One more thing happened the night of April 2nd, '81 ... A very little boy was born. And now all 5' 1.25" of him is my son-in-law !!!

Again, I've just arrived at w*rk. But it's a short day, having booked the afternoon off for home-stuff. And then a 3-day week-end. Whooo-hooo !!!

Mind you, a lot of that time will be spent making messes, noise and other fun stuff. With POWER TOOLS !!! smiley - biggrin

Monday is what you folks would call a "bank holiday".

July 1st is the birthday of our country. And the first Monday of September is "Labour Day". So to provide a bit of a break to the long, hot summer, most of the provinces also grant the first Monday of August as a 'civic' holiday. Hey, I don't care as to the why's, ... I'll happily take a paid day off. smiley - biggrin

Or for folks like me, an unpaid labour day as a carpenter. smiley - laugh But hey, ultimately I am the one gaining this time, instead of a friend or neighbor.

Any social or family plans for your week-end?

I've tried my hand at that, to a very limited degree. I now know my talents are far more suited to soldering ... of either electronics or copper water pipes. smiley - laugh

I just glanced at the BBC News and it looks like a few more people have been picked up by the constabulary. I do wish them every success, trying to round up and close down atleast that "cell".
