Up here in the north-east there are 3 girls at a school whose names are keegan, Beardsley and Dalglish!

It's a GIRL!!!!
Mama and Papa have stuck to their guns and called her Isla. Born at 22.17 last night, 7 pounds 4 oz, and as a piece of fitting retribution for years of torment at the hands of my brunette sister, the baby has a thatch of bright red hair!!!
Mum and baby both well but knackered after 25 hours of labour. Baby set to take after her Auntie Deakie. She was born, no crying, opened one eye for a look, belched, then went to sleep!
Isla is way better than Niall, but I'm afraid I'll still be calling her Fred!

I know a girl called Iona whose sister is called Isla. If they had a brother, I suspect he would've been called Madagascar

Maybe it's just me, but the name Isla conjures up horrible images of Larry Grayson hosting the Generation Game in the late '70s. And it means she can't marry anyone with the surname White. Or Mann.

Can I just add that Deaks was a bit of a worry box last night when we hadn't heard anything and her sis had been in labour for quite some hours. The smile on her face when we finally got the good news was a real picture!!! Aaaaaahhhhhh
