Yeah Dai! He must have eaten his wheaties today. Not only did he liberate himself (free at last) from the jiggedy thread, he has sleuthed his way into your mailbox. What cleverness!

Ian and Dai: I will get around to emailing you as soon as I have spindoctored ...er... found something to say about myself.

In all seriousness, I have been working on a proposal to protect the disabled in housing. And of course, from time to time, I digress to the ctmb. So I simply have not been able to muster the full force of my narcissism. But will soon. So put on your crash helmets.

Now as for my secret way of circumnavigating the ctmb mod as respects the London Underground stations:

I have experimented with this, creating a set of constants and then adding one variable at a time. (This is how I got pulled from Dai's swan song thread.)

It is my belief that the mod will pull any references to tube stations, claiming that he can't allow us to meet up. (Ani mutters to herself something about getting a life)

The mod will also pull certain disguises to the station names. But only if they appear to be another language.

But if you disguise the station name to sound like several English names, then the mod doesnt notice. I've done this. And it works.

Swim bell tone, for example. Any takers?

Now to prevent the post from sounding like totis drivelis, one would need to exercise much imagination and mastery of the vagaries of the English language. Hey! No problem-oh.

Sally is right. It is the stealth that makes it attractive to me. slink slink. (she puts her white raincoat on and disappears into the rain)

Ani, got it that well known underground station

breast stroke chime.

No wonder the mods don't get it, they're probably ringing the menatl health folk in Canada, expect a knock on the door at any time.

Totis confusus.

How about thsi one: after a ku klux klan visit. hint mainline station too.

Or: first part of the day, heavy weight, shape of a quarter moon!

I won! he he. Didn't see the dastardly descartes doubleback, did you?

How can I be so cruel to you, especially now I know you're devastating.

Inflaming Ibiishika!

A gesture of reconciliation to whom, Ani? Dai? He is not on the board these days and in any case I think he got all heated up about a topic. He would no doubt say the same thing about me, so I will leave that topic alone. Let bygones be bygones, life is too short...

The same thing applies to you Ani, I will let bygones be bygones...

I don't have a Main line on my map.

These are the lines I have (please correct me if I am wrong):

Brown Bakerloo
Red Central
Yellow Circle
Green District
Orange East London
Pink Hammersmith and City
Burgundy Metropolitan
Black northern
Blue Piccadilly
Aqua Waterloo and City

I had imagined the clues as rhyming or sounding like the station. As for KKK: I don't know where to start with that one.

as for descartes double back. I don't know about your clue. what about hay tart bubble pack? but would we even need a clue? Is descartes double back a station? the point is to avoid using station names.

Yes you've got them right, although a lot of underground users, wouldn't have a clue waht burgundy (dark red init) and aqua (light blue) are.

Remeber too Ani men only see in sixteen colours! Peach is a fruit not a colour to men.

Did I get your first (and only two)?

first part of the day, heavy weight, shape of a quarter moon

Mornington Crescent.

My clue would be prawn thing done pleasant.

To wit: Delwyn, peering over his stunning array of condiments, asked 'wot'l u have?' Fearing the kebabs which he had done rare and rude, I answered, 'the prawn thing done pleasant.'

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. Unless someone else would like to nip and tuck?

You do crosswords and are coming at it from a cryptic view? Oh geeze, I'm done for now. I was hoping maybe we could do ecclesiastic mc and come at it from a coptic view.

after a kkk visit = Charing Cross? Um, how? explain.

My clue would have been staring boss.

To wit: Bone tired from working all night, I dragged my blueprints into the boardroom and stood yawning before my fingernail polishing assistant, my twitching IT consultant, and my staring boss.

So which line are you calling 'Main'? Bakerloo or Northern? Anyway it's not fair to call it Main. How am I supposed to know Main all the way over here in the snow?

I'm going to have to figure out a way of printing this map. It's too slow scrolling around. Maybe I'll try coping it to a diskette and having the print shop enlarge it tomorrow. That way I can get a colour print.

Hold on a second, who said life was fair? We have main line stations, ones that aren't underground, we even have a smashing language. We don't have the Clagary Stampede, and we don't have such wide open spaces, mind you we don't have as much snow. Hmmm perhaps I shouldn't have said that.

Ian. OK. The lines (coloured) I listed above are the only ones I know about. If there are more, than I need someone to tell me what they are.

I know life isn't fair. But I didn't know whether you knew that or not and thought I would try it on. Obviously that ploy didn't work.

But there are others...and now that we are not playing fair...the world is my oyster...Ani.

PS don't tell Delwyn the world is my oyster. He is particularly fond of oysters and...well...you can imagine what could ensue.

smashing language: idiom specific to stonemasons. that must be up there in scotland. is scotland still yours?smiley - smiley

calgary stampede: how much are you offering? Nevermind, just take it.

wide spaces: I was in a wide space once in England. It was an enormous bluff that looked over green farmland. One could imagine the Romans coming there and feeling very chuffed and saying veni vidi vici.

snow: it's on its way
