The ground is dry,and the grass is yellowing.All the ditches are dry.

The constant breeze dries out the land better than sunshine.

Where there's a bit of shelter from the wind, the grass stays damper for longer,even if it gets sun.

The washing dries quicker in a breeze than if there's only sun.

You notice it when you get your feet wet too many times, pegging out.

my back garden is grass come moss and the same after rain..squelch! plus we are clay based, so it don't soak away

and I'm on sand! I could use some of your clay.

What y'neeed is some rubber boots. I bought some this year after getting t-'d off with wet shoes after pegging out washing.(the grass stays wet till lunchtime after the heavy dews we have.)

Now I just have wet jeans bottoms

your just like my daughter, she wears flaired jeans etc and in rain, they get soaking wet just up to below the knees,due to capillary action. I joke about her wearing "normal" ones in rain...but do they listen

no, truly,Prof: they're straight leg jeans.

It's just our grass isn't cut very short,not like the test-match turf you have(judging by the frequency of your efforts)!!
