Hi there Sarah!
No I didn't forget what your name was. Haven't written since your last message as I thought you may be sick of me by now.
Why are the little ones being a pain?
We are all ok here. Had a bonfire on 5th - no fireworks though as the local football club had a huge display and we could see it from home.
We got rid of loads of garden rubbish and some old spars from the back of the shed. Fire lit at seven and was still burning at 2:00am. We had burgers on some home-made cobs, sausages and jacket spuds with mushy peas, it was great.
What have you been up to lately.
If you want to keep in touch I'll gladly respond.

Hi Sarah!
It's that bloody woman again!
I have to admit that I love Bonfire Night - why don't your little ones enjoy it? is it perhaps the noise and that you are perhaps frightened and convey it to them?
I have one mad dog and two cats (pussies don't go out at all) and they aren't scared at all about the fireworks.
Today is Friday - yesterday we had lots of the lovely white stuff - you are more northerly than we are - did you get snow too and have you made a snowman yet? I'm one of the idiots who love snow - have made Mr Snowman with carrot nose and coal eyes - the dog thinks we have an invader in the garden and keeps barking at it.
take care and let me know how the little ones are

the kids loved getting dressed up and going trick-or-treat but emma doesn,t mind the fireworks it,s megan she just screams and goes running in the house but she is the first to go to the window and watch them in the sky.
yes we have go snow here but not enough snow here to make a snowman but we will all be out and making lots in the back garden that way nobody will knock it down
both the kids are doing well
emma has to dress-up on the 3rd of dec about christmas so i,m getting her a fairy outfit from asda,s and she can go as a fairy of a tree
chat soon
love sarah and the family

Evening Sarah!
Christmas is wonderful for the little ones isn't it? 3rd December is very important to me as it was my Mum's Birthday. I hope your's enjoy being a Christmas Fairy - it's often too expensive to think about; but you have to do whatever you can, so that the children can enjoy the school plays etc.
My little one is now 21, but I've just been searching the shops for an advent calendar cos she's always had one and I don't see any reason to stop now. Am I daft or what?
Made my Christmas cake last week and have to put marzipan on next week, before icing it before Santa comes.
The hound from hell is barking his head off at the moment 8:20pm to go down the fields, so I'd better take him!
Take care and let me know what you are planning for the festive season.
My little lady still had the wonderful belief at 10 years old. It's wonderful isn't it? When she asked me if there was a Santa - I said that Santa exists as long as you believe - I hope that your's believe as long as they can - its magic!!
speak soon

hi i went out and got emma a`fairy outfit for £10 she put it on and look beautiful in it, i think she is doing a play they do one every year so that will be great to watch altho they have stated that only 1 adult per child can watch well that isn,t right i may be taking 2
i don,t bake cakes i,m not that good but i do make some mince-pies i have been doing that for years for my mum and her 2 sisters to last them all though christmas and new year i will be making them a couple of week before.
yes the kids still believe in santa megan that the youngest 3 she said that santa has got her present and if i,m a goodgirl he will give them be back so she is very excited well they both are on the 18th of december i,m going on a girls night out if i can get enough to go otherwise it,s just me and my mate going to leeds drinks
well i will let you go and chat again soon
bye for now

Hi Sarah!
Sorry for the delay - not had much time for the computer lately.
I bet Megan looks delightful in her fairy costume. It is unfair that only one adult per child should go - you take two and good luck.
Went to Lincoln Christmas market yesterday (Friday) first time for me, we went on the train and had a wonderful day - lots of wonderful old fashioned presents for little ones (unfortunately my little one is too old now for some of them) wooden puzzles and jigsaws, games from when Noah was a lad but still great.
Hope you get to go to Leeds with the girls, it will be lovely if you can. Isn't Leeds a fair way from you? where abouts in Manchester are you from? you did say Manchester didn't you?
If we don't get chance to talk again before the bearded gentleman comes, have a wonderful Christmas.
take care and have fun.
xx

Hi Sarah!
Hope that Emma had a wonderful time - isn't it lovely when they take part in something which gives them pleasure?
I've never been to Lincoln before but it was great. There were stalls covering all sorts of things: wooden dolls, games, jigsaws, shawls, scarves and gloves, toys etc. We even bought a bottle of mulled wine from the Monks at the Cathedral (£6.oo)
I must have made a mistake thinking you came from Manchester, didn't realise you were from Halifax. My husband knows the area well.
If we don't speak again before the bearded gentleman arrives, have a wonderful Christmas, and a prosperous, healthy New Year.
Really nice to talk to you.

Hi Sarah!
The play sounds wonderful - glad the little one enjoyed it - are they getting really, really excited yet? it won't be long before the bearded gentleman arrives will it - I still believe in the magic of Christmas.
Stan has spent so many years driving both coaches and lorries that I think he knows all of Halifax - not one area in particular - depends on where he was delivering.
If we don't speak again before Santa time, have a really wonderful time with the children and I wish you a very prosperous New Year.
Speak soon - take care.

Hi Sarah!
We had a really good Christmas too. Peacefull and partyish. Daughter went out a lot with her friends. We had a little snow (hoping for more)
As you are further North than we are, no doubt you will get the pretty white stuff before we do - great for sledging (on black bin liners if nothing else available)I must be a great kid still as I love the snow.
Have a wonderful time and hope you have a prosperous New Year.
Take care

Happy New Year Sarah!
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond; but we've had a sad period during the last few weeks.
My Husband's Father died on 28th December. He thankfully just went to sleep without any suffering, so we must be grateful for small mercies.
He was 91 years old and would you believe, four days earlier was driving around in his car.
There has been an absolute shed load of official parafanalia to complete and we are still submerged in paperwork.
On a happier note, I hope that you and yours had an absolutely wonderful Christmas and New Year and the children were delighted with whatever Santa brought.
Glad to hear that you had snow - no doubt we shall get some more before much longer!
take care and speak again soon

Evening Sarah!
Thanks for your kind thoughts - yes he had a grand life - he bred budgies for many years, and travelled a lot in the army so he saw lots of places and had loads of interests.
How's your garden coming along? I know its only early February; but I seem to be in March/April in my little plot. Got snowdrops of course but the crocuses are in full bloom and the daffodils are almost ready. I've also got some French bulbs (can't for the life of me think what they are at the moment - it will come to me no doubt) which normally flower in June and they have already got flower buds on.
Don't forget the pancakes next Tuesday!!
Keep smiling

Hello friend!
What holidays? we have no plans for the summer yet - its difficult with two cats and an ageing doggy to care for - he is 12yrs old now and a bit crotchety - he's also enourmous and not awfully fond of strangers (except perhaps for dinner) so we can't just go and put them all in kennels etc.
We are thinking of buying a camper van this year, so perhaps the dog can have a holiday as well - my Sister will look after the cats - still that's all in the future.
My daughter (who's 21 and just finished at University,) has just got a job and is really excited about it, so I shall now be transporting her up and down the M1 to work and back every day till she passes her driving test (due 4th March).
How are your little ones doing at the moment - anything interesting to report?
Keep in touch
