Hi Sarah!

Sorry for long delay in replying. Since death of Father in Law, we have been so busy clearing out his house that this is the first chance I've had to look at the website.

What results did you get for Emma's hearing test? any problems with the hearing does normally affect the balance, as balance is controlled by the inner ear I believe. How old is she?

Glad you did so well in your computer tests, word processing and spreadsheets have been my working life for many years; so I know the pleasure you must feel having mastered the basics and have no doubt now progressed even further.

Daughter did pass her driving test thanks; and yes, they do now have to pass the theory test first. I passed my test in 1970 (Lord how old does that make me feel?)and there was no theory test then either!

She now has her first job since leaving University - at the head office of Boots in Nottingham (not too far from here, although we have to take her and bring her home - around 40 miles per day) She is a trainee merchandiser - whatever that is) and she loves it so far.

Take care and keep in touch

Hi Sarah!

Glad that you are all ok - its great that you have a Mum who will take the little ones on holiday in August - where are they going?

It will give you a break to be yourself for a while, which is really important.

School is a very special time for the children, you have to make it sound exciting so they look forward to it - and pretend that you aren't going to be depressed when they go, or they will sense your feelings and not want to leave you!!

I am having a busy time at the moment in the garden with all the veg - tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, carrots etc., have also got loads of flowers in pots; not to mention the herb garden, which is doing well.

The dog is being a pain as he wants to go down the fields as I speak to you - he has no respect for things which don't involve him, so I suppose I'd better get my wellies on and mosey down to the woods.

Its really nice to hear from you again

Take care and keep in touch

ps - take care who you give your e-mail address to, as anyone can infiltrate, who you may not want to talk to!!

Hi Friend!

Delighted to hear that the children are going to Newcastle (ok, I know, without you) What you have to do, is wave them off with an exceptionally big smile, as though its the most wonderful thing in the world - it hurts like hell (I've been there) but if you don't, they'll think there's something wrong with it and won't want to go!! then you'll feel more miserable than ever. After about half an hour, you and the children will both feel a sense of relief, at which point you and hubby should enjoy the respite of a bit of time to yourselves. You can be Sarah for a short while and not just someone's Mummy.

After 35 years of marriage, hubby and I are taking separate holidays this year - with two ageing cats, and an even more ageing dog, there is no way that we can put them in kennels. Hubby is going to wander off into the wild unknown to find a caravan park somewhere (after 40 years of driving coaches & lorries, he doesn't want an organised anything.

I think that I shall take the car and mosey down to Cornwall, calling on a friend in Bristol on the way.

Do make the most of your time without the little ones - I know that they are precious; but so is your time with your Husband there's so little time alone available and I'm sure that the kids will be having an absolutely wonderful time without you that there's no need to feel concerned (Mothers alway do without just cause)

Have fun and make the most of it

Take care and keep in touch xxx

Hi Sarah!

How did the children's holiday go?

Perhaps after this time, you have better things to do than answer messages from people you don't know. Still, I would be interested to know how it went.

If you still contact H2G2 and would like to keep in touch, reply whenever its suitable.

Take care and love to the little ones.
