scorp

Good morning Sarah! (well almost, its 10 to 1 now in Derbyshire.

Just thought you might like a little story:-

Once upon a time (like 11:30 last night) I decided to sit on the patio with a quick ciggie and a coffee and cool off after making some bread.

We often get the security light coming on in the middle of the night with a family of foxes and like to watch them from the bedroom. However, last night a young cub, came through the hedge from next door's garden, wandered towards me till it was about two feet away and then spotted me sitting there. I thought he was bound to run off but no! he stood and looked at me for a couple of minutes, then walked slowly under the flower arch, sniffed at a geranium and calmly walked through another hedge and into a different neighbour's garden.

Tonight, we had chicken for dinner. So, I put out the bones on the patio in case they came again. Sat outside about an hour ago and lo and behold, little fellow/lady came through a different hedge, looked me up and down then wandered off. Didn't attempt to take any bones. I gave up, thinking he wouldn't come back, and came indoors, just gone to take the dog out and not a bone in sight.

It's lovely to see them at such close quarters.

Sorry if this is boring you; but I thought little ones might like the story of Brer Fox in the garden.

Are you all ok?

Have some smiley - tea and smiley - cake
