The list of the many colourful, amusing and interesting variations of your slugline (a labour I admire) does not yet include any explanation of your latest: 'Horse overboard'.
Since it only brings to my mind one of the establishing scenes in a recent remake of Black Beauty I must ask you to expand upon it and allow me to get beyond this rather remarkable but limited and probably not properly associated image.

Don't go imagining it's anything deep. (A failing of yours, I suggest. )
At the weekend I downloaded () 'The Peel Sessions' by a band called Microdisney, and it's a song on it. I've no idea what it means - although the song does have random mention of horses in various contexts. I just liked the mad image of a horse falling off a ship. Like - what's a horse doing up on deck in the first place?

I have to assume you haven't seen the version of Black Beauty I cited. The shot of the horse's leap into the ocean from the sinking ship is at least iconic and perhaps foundational!
As for depth being a failing, please consider the tragic results of diving into shallow waters.

True enough.
