Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums

Hmmm - I've never been to London before, so I don't know where you should go... but if you do end up in the city, make sure to say something to one of the Buckingham Palace guards for me. Something like "Midnight says hi!"
I've always wondered what would happen if you went up to the guard and kissed him full on the lips...? Apparently people have urinated on them before and they still just stand there. Which makes me wonder what they're really there for. If their job is just to stand there, how are they supposed to defend the palace? They are meant to be guards, after all. If they see a criminal climbing over the wall, do they still just stand there? Would they allow the criminal to use their extremely tall hats as a bit of a leg-up? Just something I've been wondering.

Phillip Island was beautiful, but wet when we were there. It rained all day and my hair was dripping wet by the end, but I couldn't care less, because it was fun. Except the part where we did surveying work in the rain.

By the way, my friend got back her Satan-worshipping RE assignment... and got and A+ for it! Apparently the teacher lapped it all up and thought she was being really brave to be so honest to him... he gave her Bible passages to read and everything... smiley - biggrin It was quite amusing...

Tigris, Keeper of the Gates.

Here, this is from leo: apparently the wy the british secret service and so on works is that they still run on the old rules of chivalry- they expect the criminal to intro duce themselves before doing anything criminal. Its a bit silly, but it seems to work for them.

And back to tigris again: Phillip island sounds really nice. wet is nice too, sometimes, and anyway you were shopping, right?

We'll make sure to tell every guy with his chinstrap under hi8s lip that midnight says hi. maybe we'll even tell them that you are planning to break in, just to see what happens.

we're off to the beach at Ashdod right now, but missed the bus, so we have a hour to kill. We have enough luggage lying in front of the bus terminal to collapse an elephant- I packed everything but the kitchen sink, base on the assumption that the house wer staying at has one already. (its an empty house, so there's basically nothing else there.)

as for that essay: your teacher is a loser. (Leo says that)

I agree - my teacher is a loser. smiley - biggrin

Can you imagine if that chivalry theory they have actually worked in this day and age?
Burglar: Hello, old chap. I'm just here to ransack the palace, if that's all right with you.
Guard: Oh, go right ahead. I'll just stand here and guard you while you do it, shall I?
Burglar: Right-oh. I'll get right on it then.
Guard: Right-oh.

It's winter over here in Australia and slowly getting colder.

if you touch a guard he's allowed to arrest you.
Sorry, didn't tell any of them you say hi- i forgot, actually, and anyway, he wouldn't have blinked in recognition, which i find a bit rude.
gtg!
I'm back in NY!

Oh yeah- London is fabulously expensive. Dont go. you'll get your money's worth better in China or something. They spend their pounds like they're dollars or something. So if something would cost 2 dollars in NY, its 2 pounds in London.

I'm back in NY- its muggy here. I prefer Jerusalem, where, if it gets hot, at least its only the sun, and if you're inthe shade your ok. Also, there's no humidity in Jerusalem. Here its sticky and thick.
I start my summer job soon.
I guess its coat and gloves weather by you? smiley - smileysmiley - ok

Do you know what kind of Jewish school is down the street from you, or wherever you said it was?

Heh - I can't remember what I said! But I liked the ideas laid out in the book. I recently re-read it. What did you think of it?
I think the Jewish school further down the highway from us isn't an orthodox one, although I'm not really sure. It's co-educational, and I've only been there once. I don't really know much about Jewish schools though. It's called Mount Scopus, if that helps.
When I go overseas, it'll probably be to America or Japan (or both) first, but I'm hoping to go to England one day anyway, even if just for Stonehenge smiley - biggrin And the Buckingham Palace guards. Say hi to NY for me smiley - smiley

I have a spare NYC postcard lying around-

wait, nevermind. I was going to offer to send it to you, but I cant find it. So forget that.

Stonehenge wont be that easy to visit. You'd have toget out of london first, which means getting around london first, and the place is marvelously expensive. I mean, your money is depreciated by at least half, if its american dollars. not sure about autralian ones.

Just wondering about the DA Vinci code, bec I wouldn't trust him on relegion really. He stated 4 things in the beginning he says are solid fact. that's because the rest of the stuff is half-inventions that have just enough truth in them to sound right. I just happened to have known a lot about some of the topics he skims over, (ranging from Leonardo to semetic writng, to ancient relegious practices,) and found a lot of the stuff to be mixed up or misguided or half correct. Though of course, being Jewish, I totally agree that Jesus was a living breathing human being, and probably married to boot. (I dont think, though, that anyone could have hidden his geneology under the temple mount. Visit it and you will see why.)

anyway, that was a lot of boring blabbery, its hot here. How's the shivering going down under?
