I'm just popping in quickly as one of the <./>ACEs</.> here, I notice you cook a few curries - I do as well, most recently made quite a nice spinach & lentil curry in coconut milk. But as real life or RL beckons, I'll be back in a short while, ok. *waves*

Ok...I must admit, reading about your curry-cooking method got my stomach nudging me so I've now got some black-eyed peas boiling on the stove for a late lunch (as it's now approaching 2pm/14:00 hours here.) So you'll have to excuse me as I'm running off to the stove intermittently. I'm not sure exactly where you are, but as far as time is concerned, this might be of use - http://www.worldtimeserver.com .

In any case, since you are quite new here you can & should visit the 'I am new, what do I do now?' page@ A868098 . And of course there's another welcome awaiting you on the 'Welcome page'@ A53146 . As well, you should probably take the <./>dontpanictour</.> ...just in case. smiley - winkeye

The wink there is just one of the many many smileys, you'll find the complete categoized list@ A155909 . It gives very simple instructions for creating/using each 1. It's a happy coincidence that I spotted your posting on curries & soups. It's recommended that you put an introductory note of some sort on your page or Personal Space (y'know, give it some 'personality'.) In that regard you might want to look@'spicing up your page'( A690518 ). Another option is the 'picture gallery'@ A692741 . There's also the 'GuideML clinic'@ A187229 , which I've been told might look a bit intimidating but isn't that difficult if you've done any HTML.

Like any sizeable community h2g2 or hootoo as it's also known, has its own newspaper <./>thepost</.> which comes out every Thursday. Usually some interesting reading & it might give you some idea of the various folks/goings-on here. And like most large communities it also has numerous Clubs & Societies. You'll find the categorized list@ A660340 .

Some of my ACE colleagues have compiled lists of links designed to assist new researchers like yourself. You'll find Seraphina's Links@ A1919937 , Shea's List is@ A534953 , Rocketman's Links are@ A725500 & Feisor's List Of Links can be found@ A719840 . Feisor wisely suggests getting out & meeting people...that can be done in any of the (appropriate)Clubs & Societies I mentioned earlier. Or, as you've done, you can contribute to an existing conversational thread - you're fairly certain to meet like-minded individuals that way. (I'm somewhat of an example - we both seem to have similar approaches to cooking.) Yet another option is my friend pheloxi's United Friends@ A703126 (to sign up, or the games area F84886?thread="http://rubymurray.com" >http://rubymurray.com )
