Fumb Bakersfield
Fumb Bakersfield is the assumed pen-name of one Craig A. Buckley, student of English literature, creative writing, the German language, and the philosophy of the absurd at Wittenberg University in that portion of this planet that has been dubbed Ohio. When not pondering "life, the universe and everything" along with my fellow Guide Researchers, Fumb can be found grilling fish in his backyard, reading novels and history texts in a hammock, sipping rum from a metal flask engraved with a diesel semitruck (that was given to him for that very purpose, mind you) or simply playing Rook in the dead of night while chain smoking, laughing at insects, and falling asleep next to strange women. As for background information, Fumb was born in 1982 in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, somewhere around Pikeville, Kentucky. Escaping a certain barefoot, jug tootling, moonshine drinking, cousin humping future, Fumb was whisked away to Cincinnnati, Ohio in the summer of 1989, where he spent his childhood in the suburbs, hiding from reality with a few good friends whose names need not be spoken. Graduating from high school in 2001, Fumb packed his few possessions and headed out for Wittenberg to study the subtle art of procrastination. Leaving the university for a year, Fumb spent his days in the depths of uptown Cincinnati (a.k.a. Clifton), wandering the streets, festering inside of damn dirty and pretentious coffee shops, and eating his share of chili. In 2003, Fumb returned to Wittenberg in order to finish his degree. Currently (as in, this very moment) Fumb can be found in the rec. center of the University, posing as a manager in order to use the rather splendid Internet connection that said managers are entitled to use.Conversations
