I got picked!

My first entry has been picked for the Edited Guide. A much needed message on this very rainy day. (Really real rainy smiley - smiley )
Now hopefully the sub-editor will work fast and won't disagree too much with my "vision", so that I'll be a part of the real Guide in not too long and without too much tampering with my work. smiley - smiley Wheeee!

2000 miles

At least that far have I been driven and driven myself over the last week. Kennewick, WA - Missoula, MT - Yellowstone, WY - Thermopolis, WY - Missoula, MT - Kennewick, WA. I've seen trees, and trees, and trees, mountains, mountains, mountains, lakes, lakes, lakes, rivers, rivers, rivers (most of them Clark Fork), and bubbling hot water in all it's variations, frankly I'm all traveled out, and it's been hot, hot, hot the entire time, except for at night in Yellowstone when it was too cold.
It's been fun traveling through four states with varied vegetation and climate, but if I never see scenery again... let's just say I've had enough of beatiful vistas for a while.

The Evergreen State

I'm now in the Evergreen State. There _is_ green around me, but it's cultivated and requires much irrigation. When you move out into the "unspoiled" wilderness all is yellow and brown. I wonder what colour the rocks will have at yellowstone, I fear I will be disappointed and disillusioned once again. smiley - winkeye

How to be a peer

A rather good post on how to do peer review (A748532) is currently in peer review. It may need some polishing, but I certainly found it useful. smiley - smiley

I love books

And since I love books I probably love this Bookworms Club (A745544). Or maybe not, it looks like it's a good starting point for exploring book related Guide Entries though.
One of them is the one on the Discworld (A292790) which I, of course, had already read, being a Terry Pratchett fan.
Another is Catch-22 (A291133) a great book.
Apropos Catch-22, a search on the Author (Joseph Heller) brought to my attention several fine entries (All of them due to quotes from Catch-22) including this one on naming your baby (A617366). Beware, you might think it funny now, but it won't be so funny when your kid kills you as revenge for 40 years of being ridiculed for their name. (Catch-22's Major Major Major did not have a happy military career.)
