Lakeside lament

This is a poem I wrote that explains the way I feel - hope someone out there enjoys it.

The lakeside lament

Puffy white clouds hang like a stage set
Over a glorious lake land view
Anguish and torment is all that you see though
Reflections of what's inside of you.

Then in the darkness before the new day
Down to the water again you go
Hurling your sorrows into the wind
Praying to find a way you know.

Rain pelts your skin in anger and pain
This time really must be the last
All of those things you started to cherish
Are now very firmly in the past.

Then at the edge you lose the courage
To fall beneath the mounting wave
What is it that you think you see there?
What is it that you are trying to save?

Cowardice turns you back where you came from
Just as the new day starts to light
Inside you a voice keeps on saying
One day maybe you'll get it right.

Red wine research

Has anyone else experienced the very odd fact that you can drink far more red wine than white at lunchtime. Does body weight play a part in this? Or am I, as usual, deluding myself? Answers on a postcard please.

Talking to oneself

Well here I am again talking to myself. Do you know what it feels like to bore yourself? It's a very odd sensation - the fact that you can predict exactly what you are going to say before you have said it and know that it won't be of the slightest interest to you or anyone else for that matter. As all my reports said at school, could do better if she tried. Well I did try - myself and others patience mostly but it's a long and boring story. smiley - biggrin

It's just another day

One day of the working week done and four more to do. Why is it that if you work hard and deliver the goods, all that happens is you get asked to do more? And then, because you hate letting people down, you work harder and harder until you can't do any more and then you feel a failure?

All alone and feeling blue

Does anyone else out there think in song lyrics without realising it? Every time I want to put into words how I feel about something, I realise that there's already a line from a song that says it for me. So right now is it a case of "Moments come and go like the wind blows" or not? In other words will the depression pass?
