Lakeside lament

This is a poem I wrote that explains the way I feel - hope someone out there enjoys it.
The lakeside lament
Puffy white clouds hang like a stage set
Over a glorious lake land view
Anguish and torment is all that you see though
Reflections of what's inside of you.
Then in the darkness before the new day
Down to the water again you go
Hurling your sorrows into the wind
Praying to find a way you know.
Rain pelts your skin in anger and pain
This time really must be the last
All of those things you started to cherish
Are now very firmly in the past.
Then at the edge you lose the courage
To fall beneath the mounting wave
What is it that you think you see there?
What is it that you are trying to save?
Cowardice turns you back where you came from
Just as the new day starts to light
Inside you a voice keeps on saying
One day maybe you'll get it right.
