I like the picture - isn't that the "spiv" guy from Dad's Army?
Do new entrys automatically get on the front page or is it just the editor's favourites?

Yes it is actor James Beck - well spotted.
All new EG entries get a day on the frontpage.
As the picture is visible (it was hidden last week 
) then I suspect your entry will be hitting the frontpage very very soon! Only 1 of the 3 frontpage entries gets a picture usually so that is great yours has been 'blobbed' as we call it.
Normally I give the author a chance to give feedback after I have subbed an entry but we are returning them to the editors ASAP as we are a bit down on 'ready' entries at the moment. So I am pleased you are happy with it.
