I'm popping by as one of the assistant community editors here, aka <./>aces</.>. We've volunteered to greet newbies such as yourself, help you feel a bit less 'lost' and nicely settled into our online enclave. First, take your time reviewing my colleague Feisor's list of Hints and Links at A719840 as well as examining the various features in the process. You'll discover the assortment of <./>smileys</.>, our newspaper <./>thepost</.> and much much more. In fact, a search will even reveal the Personal Space Workshop(at A1123354). That might be useful as a supplement to either the GuideML clinic or Spicing Up Your User Page - both of which Feisor refers to.

Don't hesitate to leave me a message if you have any questions. Simply use the 'Reply' button below and I'll try to respond promptly, alright. smiley - cheers*waves*

Do you know if there is a spell checker for posting messages on hootoo?

Hop their is, I'm completely illegitimate, I get confused all the time with wodrs and smellings.

smiley - smiley Hello Red-coat, good to get a prompt response!(Sorry I missed you.) There isn't a spell-checker that I'm aware of - I can ask around but I believe that's what the 'Preview' button is for, so you can correct a spelling mistake-or typo(s), smiley - rolleyesgood grief-before you actually post it. If I'm unsure of a spelling(which I assure you Does happensmiley - winkeye), I'll use either http://www.merriam-webster.com or possibly http://www.hyperdictionary.com. But there are others out there, simply do a search for 'dictionary services' or 'online dictionary services'.

Hi jaz'd ACE,

Thanks for your replysmiley - ok

What I have been doing is to write the posting to a Word document, use that spell checker and then copy and paste to the posting. Then I preview it and add smileys etc; it's just a little slow that's all. It does work though.

I've dipped my toes in to GuideML, hope it is working!!!

smiley - cheers

Hi jaz'd,

I've just been smiley - lurking in your patch, (hope I'm not intruding?) and the Music 2 part caught my eye.

I have never heard of these artists and would like to know more. What kind of music it is it?

My musical taste is varied, everything from Beethoven to Bob Dylan and most other styles; except Rap, cannot abide itsmiley - yuk

Hello Red-coat, smiley - lurking about is fine I suppose. The musicians I mention there are Jazz musicians(most of them Canadian). I suspect checking some websites might be a good idea: http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/cjensen , http://www.sandrodominelli.com , http://www.kentsangster.com , or similar(some of them local)musicians such as http://www.pjperry.com , http://www.rubim.com or for Norweigian musicians http://www.jazzbasen.no

smiley - smiley Hi Red-coat!

Easy enough, visit any of the various Clubs and Societies, etc(at A660340)& select a few that you feel you'd fit into or be comfortable in. Follow the conversation awhile, then use the 'Reply' button when you feel you have a valid opinion(or something to contribute).

If I remember right, my first 'public contact' here was in the Aroma Cafe at A202924. But there're all sorts of places!

Right smiley - cheers & see you around, so to speak!
