'Who is me?'
Who is me? Where is me? Who and where am I? Me, myself, I? I am buried deep within, for on the outside I am only partially me. I am 'his' wife, ''their mum', 'their carer', 'their employee', 'her sister'... I am there by my husbands side in all that he does, I am there whenever my children need me, I work (hard!) for the money I earn, I care for other peoples children when they can't, I feed the cat when others don't and clean and tidy when others won't.
But me? The real me, where am I? I am climbing hills, breathless, with the wind in my hair and the grass beneath my feet. I am on a far off warm shore with sand between my toes and the sea splashing my naked legs. I am in the silent, timeless forest at one with the trees. I am in the meadow gathering bluebells and cowslips. And at night I sleep with the stars atop a moonlit mountain.
Then the alarm goes off...
