Compared to the bother our fellow citizens are facing in Greece, describing the hobby to a broader audience is a doddle.

A male 'plane spotter' is often open to ridicule and even well-meaning people love to use the term 'anorak' in a jokey kind of way. Most of the people that discover my hobby are usually speechless, as they are unaware that females also participate in spotting the odd aircraft or two!
