>>Why do you want wierd not weird?<<
just referring back to what you said about spelling it incorrectly for ages and didn't want it to appear that I'd got it wrong - nothing more.

I wish you'd said I'm literally stunned! I love it when people use literally hilariously! Wow indeed. To have ANY of my sums working is stunning enough but this one's been literally breathtaking in its rollercoaster of an is it right or wrong ride.
Have to go - got to be bright and chirpy for my little darlings tomorrow. Bought seeds today (beans - some in jars with blotting paper to watch germination - always good results (we'll also grow some in compost)) <----have I got my brackets right?!!! and peas and cress and virginian stock since that's quick.
Night night and don't stay up all night finding more ways of making 42 - mind you Eric might like yo to. Haven't checked to see if he's used mine.
Goodnight,
MJ

>>>Right, that's it young lady, I've had just about as much of this as I can take! There I was working under intense pressure from you and I make a very very slight error - I don't have to do this you know. I could be - erm - erm - well I'm sure there's something else I could be doing.
I hope you won't mind my suggesting that you require a winky smiley to assure me that you're not being serious. Or even one of these:

Surely you knew I wasn't being serious when I said "young lady"?

just off to Sainsbury's in Selly Oak
I'll have to find their organic butter section and see if any nice short ladies are struggling to reach the shelf

I don't believe this! It can't just be a coincidence. THE ORGANIC BUTTER AT SELLY OAK SAINSBURY'S IS ALSO ON THE TOP SHELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I must look on their web site to see if it is company policy - perhaps there's a page there which says: Come to Sainsbury's and meet the nice short lady of your dreams!
Today, however, there were no ladies tall or short by the organic butter, just a tall and a medium sized man. Perhaps they'd both been hanging around for ages waiting for someone to turn up. But I didn't linger, I could see it looked hopeless.
Just having a cup of redbush before heading off to allotment. Sweetcorn well over 1 ft tall now so hope it isn't too pot-bound.

I'm knackered - sweet corn enormous but it was so windy that I didn't dare plant them out, even though ground now ready - they would have been flattened. So brought them back again! Tried to earth up spuds but too late - stopped after I'd dug up 2 small tubers. Broad beans covered in blackfly so sprayed with derris - far too windy to do a good job but if I hadn't done something today, it would soon be too late.
Off out for more snap this eve at Bromsgrove - it's my turn to be host at the club which means if there's an odd no., I have to come home. Won't be too unhappy if I do, can catch up on sleep. England play tonight (didn't know but just checked) so that means some regulars will be missing no doubt.

OH NO! A tale of woe. So sorry to read all of this. Hope the tomatoes and peppers are thriving at least.
Don't give up.

Good evening Jane,
Back from snap, ended up playing with probably the best player in the club as his regular partner couldn't shut her front door so couldn't come!! (she'd just had it painted - btw she's also a Warwickshire member, so women are able to understand cricket (tee hee)). Think we did OK seeing as we'd never played together before and spent about 30 seconds discussing what bidding system we were going to use. Won't get results til tomorrow or Thursday.
As far as the allotment is concerned - it's what I deserve, I just haven't been doing enough work over there. And it was really sad to dig up those two little Charlottes whilst trying to earth them up - not enough to eat so I had to ditch them.
Toms doing fine in greenhouse and peppers looking OK - still in small pots but they like their roots restricted - bought some more compost today so will pot them on this week.
But it was very dispiriting to see the part of the allotment not under cultivation, ie about 2/3rds of it, covered with 3 ft high grass and docks.

True I suppose - if you put in the hard work you reap the rewards.
Only just ready for tomorrow - spent ages planning how to use the assistance I have tomorrow - a TA, a parent and the aged Reading Aunties all at once! Complicated juggling involved as to who's doing what when with which children and can all the children do everything...the longer you plan the more likely it is it'll all collapse! Add to that the need to photograph one of the ongoing activities and also have a group at a time working with me...aaargh! I'll never complain of having no help again!

That Sound Charades...Angela's Ashes! You can post her the answer when the boards open so she doesn't start giving you clues! (I still like my Great Dictator... though it was rather odd!)

Hello Jane,
My problems are but as the leaves blown in the wind

MabelJane Posted Jun 20, 2006
Still not quite clear why earthing up involved accidentally digging up baby Charlottes. Couldn't you dig up earth from further away? You can have my grass clippings if you like - I have enough to earth up rows and rows of spuds.

Have I ever told you I played cricket on Christmas Day on the telly?
