Just a gut feeling - though I suppose a male could be flirting with you - who knows!!!

>>Still not quite clear why earthing up involved accidentally digging up baby Charlottes.<<
When I started to dig between the rows in order to earth up, I found that some of the new tubers were being exposed - hence I stopped. Should still have lots of Charlottes but perhaps not so many as if I'd earthed up the rows properly.

What do you do with all these potatoes? You can't keep them v well can you? Do you eat nothing but potatoes as soon as they're ready to harvest?

>>MJ <<
bye Jane
Potatoes do keep very well - my Desiree from last year were still fine when I dug them up in March/April. They kept better in the ground than if I'd dug them up and kept them at home.

Ah! If deep enough they stay frost free then? I thought parsnips had to be left in for a frost but then they're higher up...
Have you seen I've added the twin 42 calculations?
Goodnight,

Hello Jane,
Another very windy day here today so didn't have another go at planting the sweetcorn out. It's currently sitting in the kitchen about 2 ft plus tall longing to be in the ground. Think wind is going to die down tomorrow - I hope!
In another vain attempt to get myself organised, I bought a new set of stacking in-trays today - I already have a set of six on the desk next to the computer, they're no use whatsoever - I just pile everything onto the top one (labelled "IN") so still haven't a clue where anything is. One of them has a label stuck on it with nothing written on it - no idea what's supposed to go in there.

PS what do you think about the blog? No smileys in comments (well I can't see how to do them), no eyes, but it does have some good points.

I've spent far too long messing around with that blog, I just can't resist tinkering!! See what you think.
More snap this evening, the third time this week, perhaps a bit too much. It was only because I had to go on Tuesday as the host and ended up playing when I thought I'd probably come home.

I think blog looks very tasteful now - and the pink aardvark's on it as well! Click on the little picture to see it full sized.
