The Olympian rang this evening, he has to go into hospital for a small operation on his nose. He is a bit worried, he is eight years older than me and quite fit for his age but it is a concern. He is my only brother and I worry about him. He lives alone and I am not sure he is looking after himself properly.
We have had a quiet day. Did some shopping this morning. pottered in the garden a bit this afternoon, it has been a bit cloudy but the sun has poked through quite a lot, so it has been pleasant.
The Son's wife came in this evening and there is a bit of a problem with ferrying the G.C's about so I shall be driving around quite a bit tomorrow.
The Boss has received a hospital appointment for July 16th, so we are wondering what we will be told.
we know we are on borrowed time but hopefully our credit will not run out just yet.
The Son has decided to take Zyban after all. he was told that smoking was more likely to kill him than the pills so he is giving it a go. I hope it is a wise decision.

We are all upset here today. A four year old boy has drowned on one of our local beaches. He was playing on rocks at the waters edge and a wave swept him out to sea. by the time he was pulled out of the water he was gone. the terrible thing is the beach was closed three weeks ago because there is a load of metal on the sands from an old shipwreck and it has to be cleared. The family who took their child onto the beach had ignored beach closed signs and ducked under a barrier to get there. it is only a small beach and well under the cliff so there is no mobile signal so they couldn't phone for help as soon as the accident happened and had to climb the clif path to find a phone. by then it was too late.
I did loads of work in the garden this morning. Trimmed the hedge, cut the grass did weeding and got k******d.
The Y.D.G.was ten today so we popped around this afternoon to take her presents. We gave her a watch and a hat, she loves hats and I think that was the favourite present the watch came a poor second.
The speedboat was in the drive back from the garage, when I asked The Son when we were going out in it he told me he was going to sell it. I told him he wasn't allowed to sell it until the end of the summer, I want lots of speeding around the bay before he gets rid.
All the mystery about The Blonde Neighbour is cleared up. Nothing exciting. She inherited money from her mum, so she was able to buy the house outright and she doesn't work because she has M.E. and isn't able to. She is really pleasant and like us loves gardening so we are already swopping hints and cuttings
Good weather today although a little cooler. Showers forecast for tomorrow so maybe I won't have to water for a while yet

Sunday Again

I did get to bed eventually in the early hours of this morning and managed to get a few hours sleep. I woke up feeling really good and wondered what got to me yesterday to make me write the stuff i did in the early hours.
We went to Pendeen this morning, spent some time with A the v and then went to The Station House at Marazion for lunch. We had a table by the window over looking The Bay and The Mount, a really good meal, roast lamb with all the trimmings and then I had a pud with loads of clotted cream on it but I didn't eat it all. I should not have had any cream at all according to the doc but what the hell. Live fast die young(ish).
When we came out after the meal it was raining so we decided to come home. As soon as I put the car away the sun came out. I went in the garden and poked about a bit staking the sun flowers and dead heading the roses. Then The Boss decided we should go for a walk which we did. a quiet afternoon stroll around the town. Phoned The Son and he was not too well. The doc has put him on Zyban to help him stop smoking . I looked it up on the net as I do with any medication we are prescribed. It does not have too good a reputation I printed the stuff off and gave it to him to read. he has decided now not to take it and is going to try hypnotism again.
It is a beautiful evening and the forecast for here tomorrow is good so I hope to get out into the garden and clear up some of the mess the storm left.

iI am here again I can't slep. The Boss came down a little while ago
to see if I was O.K. I said I was but I'm not really. I am having a bad bout of ill spent youthism. Missed chances, wondering about my first true love. Wondering where the years have gone. Thinking of the close friendsI no longer see. From the time his family moved over the road from us I was best pals with Gray. we went to school together, we played together when we came home. had our first drink together and had our first girl together , same girl, same night, different time!
we went to clubs and dance halls together and if only one of us pulled the other one would make his excuses and leave so that we went home together. We were closer than brothers. When he went into the army I had to go in the Royal Navy. For two years we wrote to each other when we were demobbed we took up where we left off. Roaring around town together,
When I came to Cornwall and met The Boss in 1955 I was so much in love I just didn't go back. I know he married a girl from the same street but I never saw him again. I have tried to find him with no luck. We had such a laugh it would be good to talk to him again.
I am getting maudlin now time to stop

Thick fog, pouring rain , windy, all at once. Miserable day.
The family popped in for a this afternoon, apart from that just lazing around watching the box and eating. How exciting can life get?
