yes i am. but you don't need to be in france to know some kind of plum eau de vie. in central europe it's called sliwowitz; in alsace they make very good stuff out of tiny yellow plums called "mirabelles".
but like whisky, these are all acquired tastes. they are strong spirits, not liqueurs.
